Paulina Rubio Dosamantes was born on June 17, 1973 in the capital of Mexico. Growing up on stage, surrounded by cameras and lighting equipment, since her mother, Susana Dosamantes, was a famous Mexican actress, the girl wanted to become an actress and her family supported her.

In 1980, her musical career began when she joined the Televisa Training Center. After two years of training, she was noticed and chosen along with 6 other participants.
