How notes combine into fragrance families

Raphaël Ori is a modern legend in the world of fragrances, a perfumer with the fragrant blood of Grasse running through his veins. Born in 1974 in the perfume capital, he continued the family tradition, receiving a brilliant education in chemistry at the University of Nice and honing his skills at the famous Charabot school. His journey from student to sought-after nose began in 1998 at the Paris office of Robertet, where he immediately immersed himself in working with major brands.
Raphael Ori's talent quickly found application in the world of fashion and luxury. Among his first iconic works were the sensual Gourmandise de Rodier and the energetic fragrances for Azzaro — the refreshing Pure Cedrat and the elegant Pure Vetiver. These compositions demonstrated his ability to create diverse, yet always commercially successful and memorable perfumes.
In 2003, in partnership with his colleague Jacques Chaber, Raphaël Ori took an important step by founding the independent house Parfums 06130 — the code of his native Grasse became a symbol of his love for the craft. This brand became the master's creative laboratory, where such beloved fragrances as the woody-spicy Cèdre, the playful Yuzu Rouge, and the delicate Lierre Rose were born.
By founding Perfum.com in 2007, Ori cemented his position as an authoritative fragrance developer for third-party brands. He left a bright mark on the history of many houses: he created the exquisite Fleur de Cristal for Lalique and dedicated the pure and airy composition In White to the Lulu Castagnette brand. His collaboration with the house of Jacques Fath was particularly fruitful, for which he created modern classics: the fresh Eau de Fath, the passionate La Femme de Fath, and the charismatic Monsieur de Fath.
Working with the surrealist legacy of Salvador Dali was a real challenge and triumph for the perfumer. Starting with the daring Dali Wild in 2013, Ori has given the world a whole collection of masterpieces. Among them are the honey-spiced Fabulous Bukhara, the sensual Fabulous Srinagar, the sunny Fabulous Korynthia, and the optimistic Sunrise in Cadaquès Pour Homme. These fragrances have become the hallmark of his bold and artistic approach.
Raphael Ori's style cannot be confined to narrow boundaries. He creates rich gourmet accords, such as in Gourmandise de Rodier, and crystal-clear fougères, such as in Immense Pour Homme, with equal success. His signature is a guarantee of quality, bright ideas, and impeccable balance, whether it's the bold Pink Power for Cathy Guetta or the stylish Endurance for Ted Baker.
Today, Raphael Ori is a respected independent perfumer, successful entrepreneur, and an inspiring example for new generations of "noses." His journey from Grasse to the global perfume arena proves that deep expertise, a passion for creativity, and the courage to create your own brand can lead to recognition in both niche and mass premium perfumery. His fragrances continue to garner rave reviews and rank high in ratings, remaining an object of desire and discussion for true connoisseurs.
