Born in 1961 in Morocco and raised in Israel, Alber absorbed the vibrancy of colors and diversity of cultures from childhood. Taking the helm at the house of Guy Laroche, the young designer instantly made a name for himself, breathing new life into a fading brand.

In 1998, fate brought him together with Pierre Bergé, who invited Elbaz to take on the role of artistic director at Yves Saint Laurent. Although this collaboration was brief, it became an important milestone. However, his true love and main creative achievement was his work at Lanvin, which he joined in 2001 and where he reigned for 14 years, transforming the house into an epicenter of romance and impeccable taste.

In 2016, the world of perfumery witnessed something special—a fragrance born at the intersection of two geniuses. Frédéric Malle, founder of the cult Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, invited Alber Elbaz to act as the 'creative director' for a new perfume. The result of this dialogue was Superstitious.

Elbaz was not a perfumer-chemist; he was the inspiration and co-author of the idea. Together with the legendary 'nose' Dominique Ropion, they created a composition that became an olfactory portrait of Elbaz's own elegance. At its heart are bold aldehydes, framed by the luxury of jasmine, rose, and frankincense, with a deep trail of amber and vetiver. This fragrance was instantly recognized as a modern classic, an object of desire for true connoisseurs.
