Julie Plushé is a talented French perfumer whose creative journey, from a love of chemistry to mastery in creating complex compositions, inspires many. Her name is associated with elegant, memorable fragrances for such renowned houses as The 7 Virtues, Molton Brown, and Clive Christian. Today, working as part of the CPL Aromas team, she continues to contribute to the world of niche and premium perfumery, creating fragrant masterpieces that are adored by connoisseurs around the world.

The journey from Marseille to Grasse

Julie's love of fragrances began in childhood and was fueled by the film Fanfan's Love Fragrance. Her scientific background—a degree in chemistry from the University of Marseille—provided a solid foundation for the art of perfumery. In 2005, she enrolled at the prestigious Grasse Institute of Perfume, where she was mentored by the legendary Max Gavarry. Internships in technical laboratories and her first job as an assistant perfumer at Fragrance Resources honed her skills, allowing her to move on to creating her own compositions.

Best fragrances and iconic collaborations

Julie Plush's creative signature is instantly recognizable in her work for iconic brands. She is the creator of the bold and luxurious perfumes Jump Up and Kiss Me Hedonistic and Jump Up and Kiss Me Ecstatic for Clive Christian. Her talent is embodied in exquisite niche creations such as the floral-salty Brighton Rock for Miller Harris and the elegant compositions Aeternitas and Color Dreams for Franck Muller.

Julie's craftsmanship also shines through in her work for British brands. She created the refreshing Vetiver & Grapefruit and delicate Jasmine & Sun Rose for Molton Brown, as well as contemporary interpretations for Atkinsons, including 41 Burlington Arcade. Her portfolio also includes more affordable but equally charismatic fragrances for Missguided and Ted Baker, such as Est. 88.

Signature style and philosophy

Julie Plush's style is a harmonious blend of the French perfumery school and contemporary trends. She is a master at working with floral accords, as can be seen in her rose and jasmine compositions, but she is also not afraid to experiment with woody, ozone, and even fruity-spicy notes. Her perfumes, whether the chic Lesedi La Rona I for Graff or the brutal Urban Oud for Habibi, always have a clear structure, depth, and emotional resonance.

Contribution and recognition in the perfume community

Julie Plush belongs to a new generation of "noses" who are shaping today's perfume landscape. Her ability to create successful fragrances for both niche and luxury brands speaks to her versatility and keen understanding of the market. Her creations are regularly discussed in perfumery communities, and works such as the sensual Jasper Conran - Nude and the vibrant The 7 Virtues - Patchouli Citrus have won the hearts of many fans who appreciate individuality and quality in fragrances.
