Naomi Goodsir is the embodiment of the modern creative spirit, whose journey from the world of fashion to the world of perfumery has gifted the industry with some of its most daring and emotional fragrances. An Australian hat and accessory designer who grew up in Sydney, she has always strived for avant-garde self-expression, working with exotic leathers and unusual shapes. Her transition to perfumery was as natural as it was inevitable — for such an artist, fragrance became a new, vast palette.
A fateful meeting with industry expert Renaud Coutoie prompted Naomi to create her own perfume brand. In 2012, Naomi Goodsir made a splash at the Pitti Fragranze exhibition. Her main principle is that perfume is like a sculpture or a painting, a material object that tells a story. This signature style, rooted in design, defines her style: Goodsir's fragrances are often cinematic, tactile, and uncompromising, balancing on the edge of beautiful and harsh, smoky and floral.
Each composition in the collection is a separate universe. The iconic Bois d'Ascese was born from memories of forest fires in Australia, embodying the harsh beauty of smoke and incense. The animalistic Cuir Velours smells of her workshop, leather, tobacco, and rum. Her genius is recognized by the masters of perfumery: to create her masterpieces, Naomi enlists the world's best "noses," such as Bertrand Duchaufour, who gave the brand the rich and sensual Or Du Sérail.
No less significant are her popular fragrances, which are adored by connoisseurs of niche perfumery. The gothic tuberose in Nuit de Bakélite or the cold, earthy iris in Iris Cendre prove that Goodsir is not afraid of complex themes. Her latest work, Corpus Equus, explores the theme of stables and leather, confirming her reputation as a creator of bold and memorable olfactory statements.
Today, living and working in France, Naomi Goodsir continues to push boundaries. Her authority is so widely recognized that the famous Parisian hotel Crillon entrusted her with the creation of its signature scent. Her story is an inspiring example of how a visual artist with impeccable taste and courage can reimagine the language of scent. Naomi Goodsir is not just a brand, she is a confident voice in the world of niche perfumery, speaking to us through smoke, skin, flowers, and memory, creating fragrances that cannot simply be worn—they must be experienced.
