Patrice Revillard

Парфюмер

Patrice Revillard is a prominent representative of the new generation of French perfumers, whose name has become synonymous with a fresh approach to niche perfumery. His journey into the world of fragrances began amid the picturesque landscapes of Annecy, a city in southeastern France, where his love for pure, naturalistic scents may have been formed. A fundamental education in chemistry at the University of Savoie Mont-Blanc and subsequent training at the prestigious Ecole Supérieure du Parfum in Paris laid a solid scientific foundation, which Revillard masterfully combines with an artistic approach.

Creative laboratory: from art to perfume

Even before the start of his full-fledged career, the perfumer proved himself to be a true enthusiast. His participation in photographer Julia Basaglia's art project, where he created seven olfactory interpretations of gray ambergris, demonstrated a deep understanding of the connection between scent and emotion. And founding the independent Olfactorama award, which evaluated new products on the market, allowed him to develop a critical eye and a keen sense of trends. This unique experience working at the intersection of art, science, and perfume analysis became the foundation of his future style.

Career rise and iconic fragrances

After joining Maelstrom in 2017, Patrice Revillard had the opportunity to bring his ideas to life for a wide variety of brands. His debut work was the unusual Visiteur - Beach Bizarre, a fragrance that instantly won over fans with its unconventional marine freshness. Other hits soon followed: the juicy and passionate Chabaud Maison de Parfum - Rose Orage, the cool and mysterious Ile Mythique for the same house, and the exquisite Jacques Fath - L'Iris de Fath, which proved the perfumer's ability to work with noble classic materials.

In a creative partnership with Sylvaine Delacourte, the sunny and juicy Oranzo was born, and for the house of Panouge, Revillard created a whole series of memorable compositions — from the spicy and fruity Prune Immortelle to the bright Datura Amaretti and the unusual Absinthe Gaïac. His talent for creating light but expressive fragrances was also evident in Teo Cabanel - Je Ne Sais Quoi and the conceptual Violet / Veolay - Cycle 001.

Recognizable signature and style

Patrice Revillard's style can be described as modern, airy, and imaginative. He masterfully plays with contrasts, combining juicy fruit or aquatic notes with warm woody or spicy accords, as in Bienaime - Vermeil 2022. His fragrances often have a naturalistic, almost tangible texture - whether it's a sea breeze, the air after a storm, or a ripe plum. The perfumer avoids excessive heaviness, preferring transparent and cheerful compositions that easily fit into everyday life while remaining artistic statements.

A sought-after master of the niche scene

Today, Patrice Revillard is one of the most sought-after creators among contemporary niche brands. His portfolio, which includes work for Chabaud Maison de Parfum, Teo Cabanel, Visiteur, and Compagnie Royale Des Indes Orientales, demonstrates incredible flexibility and an ability to sense the DNA of each house. He continues to surprise the community of connoisseurs by creating perfumes that become the subject of lively discussion and often make it into the personal top lists of fans from all over the world.
