Patricia Chu is the perfumer whose fragrances, ranging from luxury niche creations to popular bestsellers, adorn dressing tables around the world. Today, she is part of the team at the famous perfume company Mane, where she continues to create her magical compositions. Her journey into the world of scents began in Burgundy, and a childhood trip to Grasse proved fateful, as a visit to the Fragronard boutique ignited an unquenchable passion for the art of perfumery in her.
Following her dream, Patricia studied biochemistry and then enrolled at the prestigious ISIPCA school. An internship at Florasynth under the wing of such a master as Dominique Ropion was an invaluable lesson. After graduating from ISIPCA in 1996, she began her career at Créations Aromatiques and then joined Haarmann & Reimer (now Symrise), where she quickly established herself as a talented perfumer for major clients.
Patricia Chu's style and expertise are in demand in both the world of high perfumery and the affordable luxury segment. Throughout her career, she has created fragrances for an incredible range of brands, from niche brands such as Amouroud and Clive Christian to cult brands such as Lancôme and Marc Jacobs. Her talent has also been embodied in fragrances for Clean, Carven, The Body Shop, Michael Kors, as well as recognizable names such as Banana Republic, GAP, and Bebe.
Among the perfumer's iconic works is the sensual and delicate Michael Kors Very Pretty, which has become the benchmark for modern femininity. For Clive Christian, she created true masterpieces: the luxurious No 1 Feminine Imperial Coronation and its masculine counterpart. Her skill in working with fresh notes is brilliantly demonstrated in the boutique fragrance Lancôme Figues & Agrumes and in the pure, transparent compositions for the Clean brand, such as the cozy Sel Santal and the refreshing Clean Lovegrass.
Patricia Chu's style can be described as modern elegance with a life-affirming mood. She masterfully balances classic structure with unexpected accents, whether juicy fig and citrus accords or transparent sandalwood motifs. Her fragrances often convey a sense of purity, lightness, and carefree happiness, making them incredibly popular among connoisseurs looking for everyday perfumes with character.
Since 2015, after moving to Mane and settling in New York, Patricia Chu has been actively collaborating with contemporary niche brands such as Nomenclature (orb_ital fragrance) and Coolife. Her portfolio continues to expand with diverse works, from the playful Carven Dans Ma Bulle to the exquisite Brocard Pavlova. Each new fragrance confirms her status as a sought-after master whose olfactory vision continues to win hearts.
