The path of a master of fragrances

His story began in Lille, France, but his childhood summers spent in Grasse, the world capital of perfumery, proved to be fateful. It was there that his passion for the world of scents was born. After earning a degree in chemistry, he completed an internship at IFF's New York office, where he was mentored by the legendary Bernard Chanta. In 1980, Vargne began his professional career at the company as a laboratory assistant, eventually becoming one of the most sought-after "noses" in the industry, working at IFF until his retirement in 2012.
