How music and economics led to perfumery

The summer when 13-year-old Vincent managed to get an internship at one of the Grasse laboratories was a fateful one for him. The scents of maceration and essences captivated him forever. Although he received an economics education at the prestigious Lycée Massena in Nice and even considered a career as a musician, perfume called him back. In 1998, he began his professional career as a modest laboratory assistant at Takasago, and a year later he immersed himself in specialized training at Expressions Parfumées, where he rose to the position of junior perfumer in four years.

From fresh citrus and woody accords, as in the iconic men's fragrance Sisley - Eau d'Ikar, to bold gourmet and spicy experiments for Haute Fragrance Company. His signature style is recognizable by its clean lines, vivid expression of accords, and surprising harmony even in the most unexpected combinations, whether it's the minty freshness of Miller et Bertaux's menta y menta or the passionate chocolate backdrop of Haute Fragrance Company's Shade of Chocolate.

A portfolio written in scents: from Sisley to Salvador Dali

Over the years, Vincent Ricot has created perfumes for an impressive list of brands. Among them are the exquisite botanical aesthetics of Sisley, art objects from Salvador Dali such as the floral-fruity Sunrise in Cadaques, and the elegant crystal poetry of Lalique, embodied in the aquatic Blue Rise. He has also worked fruitfully with Jacomo and Pascal Morabito and created fragrances for the Russian market, including for Faberlic.
