Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of Butterfly 2 is built as a continuous scent journey, where accents shift smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of Arabian Oud is recognizable in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. No excess details, only what works, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de parfum supports a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

In the first seconds you catch delicate floral opening notes: Calendula and Oud. These 2 notes form the effect of a living bouquet that is impossible to miss.

When the opening settles you notice Pomegranate carrying a soft nectarous direction.

The internal accord map is driven by these accords: Aromatic, Citrus, Floral and Fruit with each one in a clear role. Secondary accord layers such as Wood add depth to the backdrop. The profile is feminine, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived.

Oud is indeed present in the fragrance pyramid, but in reality, it's more like a fruity water. The scent is light, not too bright, and doesn't attract attention. Among all perfumes with butterflies, this one is probably not the most memorable

Basil again spoils my perception of the fragrance, I didn't expect this note to evoke so many negative feelings. Although in other compositions, like Mandarin Basilic by Guerlain, I like it. Here, everything is too exaggerated. Only the woody accord in the drydown saves the situation, and then the fragrance becomes at least a little more pleasant for me 😔
