The Story of Forbidden Rose

Forbidden Rose Eau de Parfum by Avril Lavigne is the Canadian singer’s second fragrance, launched in 2010 under the slogan “Don’t Be Afraid to Discover!”. In Russia, it is often called “Forbidden Rose.”

This is an Eau de Parfum for women, belonging to the floral, fruity, and sweet fragrance families.

The singer herself was born in 1984 in Belleville, Canada, into a Baptist family, and her musical journey began with singing in church—this rebellious spirit and sincerity are reflected in the fragrance as well.

Official brand website: Avon.ru.

Character and Scent Profile

Forbidden Rose is a bold blend of fruity, floral, and woody notes that highlights a daring, energetic personality.

The fragrance has a subtle sillage, making it ideal for everyday wear—it never overwhelms, yet leaves a pleasant impression.

The composition is built on contrasts: sweet fruits intertwine with spicy pepper, while a base of sandalwood, chocolate, and vanilla adds a comforting touch.

Who Is Forbidden Rose For?

This feminine fragrance was created for dynamic, self-confident young women who are not afraid to experiment and want to stand out.

It is perfect for daytime outings, walks, or meeting friends.

With its playful yet unobtrusive character, Forbidden Rose will be a faithful companion in any season except on the hottest days.

Description of the composition

The fragrance pyramid opens with juicy notes of red apple, spicy black pepper, and sweet peach. At its heart, heliotrope, apple, and delicate lotus bloom.

The base envelops you in warm sandalwood, chocolate, and vanilla.

This combination creates a playful yet daring character: the opening invigorates with fruity tartness and spice, while the drydown becomes soft and enveloping.

The fragrance unfolds gradually, revealing new facets with every passing hour.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. The performer, it seems, is from Canada. I only learned about her after this perfume ended up in my collection. The fragrance is truly unusual, not sweet, rather dry and with peppery-powdery notes. This isn't that cloying pop nonsense anymore, but something with real character )

The bottle absolutely doesn't match what's inside. You look at it and expect something mysterious, but in reality, you get a rather simple and straightforward fragrance. It's sweetish, fresh, and watery, reminiscent of a shampoo scent with a fruity-floral accent. Something sharp is missing, a bit of character would add something

I'll note right away that roses aren't felt here, and Avril Lavigne's image isn't traceable either. This is a light and sweet fragrance, perfect for teenagers. It's unobtrusive, not loud, with wonderful heliotrope and juicy apple in chocolate

I bought this perfume to add something beautiful to my collection. I just adore the lilac color :) The scent is sweet and pleasant, perfect for young people (though I'm not old myself) I associate it with prunes, something sweet, and an apple, but not sour, rather a sweet, red, and fragrant one. But why "Rose" in the name? It's not felt at all
