A Fragrance with a Story: Benefit See & Be Seen Sasha

When the Ford sisters founded Benefit back in 1976, they could hardly have imagined that their cosmetics empire would give the world not only cult-favorite mascaras and highlighters, but also poetry in the form of fragrances.

In 2012, See & Be Seen Sasha was launched—an eau de toilette that became part of the Crescent Row collection.

It is more than just a perfume; it is an olfactory declaration of love for sunny San Francisco and carefree chic.

See & Be Seen Sasha is a women's fragrance that belongs to two families at once: floral and fruity.

Its sillage is subtle, making the composition intimate and personal—an ideal choice for those who prefer a hint rather than a bold statement.

Despite its modest trail, the fragrance offers remarkable longevity and the ability to turn an ordinary day into a little adventure.

Similarities and Inspiration: What to Compare It With

If you are looking for similar fragrances, consider these neighbors in the perfume universe: Burberry London For Women, Dior Addict (2014), and Zara Black Peony 2016.

However, See & Be Seen Sasha stands out for its transparent fruity-floral character—it is lighter and more playful than the classic Dior Addict, yet richer than Zara Black Peony.

Excellent value for money for an everyday mood.

How to Wear It and What to Pair It With

This eau de toilette is made for mornings, sunny days, and parties where you want to shine without overwhelming everyone around you.

Spray it on your wrists and neck—the fragrance will unfold in soft waves and accompany you without invading anyone's personal space.

Ideal for spring and summer, when you crave freshness and a touch of whimsical mood. The brightly colored bottle with its golden cap is a dressing-table decoration in its own right.

Description of the composition

The fragrance pyramid of Benefit See & Be Seen Sasha is built on the contrast between juicy fruity freshness and delicate floral depth.

The top notes — apricot, freesia, and orange blossom — offer an opening of sparkling sweetness with a subtle bitterness.

At the heart, a rich bouquet of Sambac jasmine, tiare, white peony, and ylang-ylang unfolds.

The base is a warm, sensual trail of amber, vanilla, and musk, adding a sense of comfort and softness to the composition.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

I wouldn't choose this fragrance for myself, but in my youth, I might have liked it. There's something synthetic about it, but that's not so bad. Sweet floral notes, a bit of tiare, cream, and coconut cream with peach jam create an interesting combination

What's up with this chemical stuff! I remember just drenching myself in this apricot syrup. At first it was so cloyingly sweet, sticky apricot, and then suddenly floral-creamy notes started to break through, which, by the way, improved the fragrance a bit. It's a shame that perfumes from this series are hard to get now. I'd totally get them again for my collection

What a nightmare! This is just a terrible attempt to make a toilet fragrance with a tiare scent. In my opinion, it's true barbarism, pardon me )

The smell is just terrible. It reminds me of some artificial apricot juice you can buy in a store, full of preservatives and other junk. It feels completely synthetic. I don't understand how anyone can put this on themselves

I chose this scent from the entire Benefit "shakers" line. It reminds me of an explosive fruit cocktail, as if a bartender just made it and is ready to pour it into glasses. I don't smell any flowers in it, just ripe fruits. I wear it to parties, and the longevity is simply amazing: it lasts like real perfume. It sounds very playful and great, especially when you're walking around the city on warm summer nights 🌟

The fragrance is just terribly oversaturated, even disgusting. Apricot is definitely here, but it doesn't save the situation. On the first try, it seemed like the bottle was packed with fruits, but then some strange accords emerge, ylang-ylang, which just won't go away. This scent is clearly not for normal life, but for some inadequate shrew. In summer it seems appropriate, but even in spring in cold air it smells repulsive. The longevity of See & Be Seen Sasha is also not impressive, completely disappointed with it 😤
