Description of the composition

The composition of Freesia is built as a continuous scent journey, where notes flow smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of Crabtree & Evelyn is clear in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Every decision feels deliberate, and the composition keeps a clear direction.

Without strict stage separation the opening appears as one connected movement with a multi-layered petal mood: Ambergris, Freesia, Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Rose, Vanilla and Woody Accord. Here 7 notes work as one coherent layer, forming an elegant floral wave that keeps the opening compact and balanced.

The heart and base are perceived as a smooth transition from opening to trail, which gives the structure continuity.

The accord architecture is built around these accords: Floral, Wood, Amber and Spicy forming a compact and readable structure.

At the note-group layer the composition is built around Ambery, Floral, Whiteflower and Gourmet. The framework further includes Wood. Within olfactory families the scent maps to Floral.

Taken together Freesia holds a coherent structure — the first stage creates momentum, the heart develops the core line, and the base secures the trail. These are the scent structures best judged on skin.
