Perfume information

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of 18 Sensual evolves as a cohesive olfactory arc, where accents shift without rush and without gaps. The style of Perry Ellis is evident from the opening to the final trail. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de parfum keeps a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

At the note-group layer the composition is built around Citrus, Floral, Drinks and Whiteflower. It also reaches into Musk, Fruit, Gourmet and Wood. From a family perspective the composition sits in Floral.

In a unified mixed pyramid the fragrance opens as a single chord with a glittering citrus mood: Bergamot, Freesia, Fruit Water, Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Mandarin and Musk.

The inner phases are perceived as a smooth transition from opening to trail, which preserves the scent identity through drydown.

The olfactory framework is shaped by these accords: Citrus, Floral, Fruit and Musc with each one in a clear role. Additional accords such as Wood and Spicy expand the olfactory volume in the background.

In summary 18 Sensual sounds complete from start to finish — the start forms character, the middle layer carries the identity, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the scent structures best judged on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

I didn't catch any cool notes in this fragrance. Vanilla, yes, it's beautiful, but too sweet and fruity. There's femininity, but it's somewhat restrained, lacking brightness. It doesn't look simple or cheap, but the feeling of softness isn't really my thing. It reminds me of something, but I can't quite put my finger on it

The combination of mint and raspberry here is truly delightful, and the addition of pear creates a great start 🍐 Strangely enough, the fragrance doesn't change much, but the floral notes become more noticeable, the lily sounds very clear 🌸 Orchid appears as vanilla pod, especially after the lily. It all sounds very sensual, although it reminds me of many other fragrances, but there's no chemical harshness, and the longevity is pleasing - more than 8 hours ⏳ I react to it like an aphrodisiac, even though musk isn't listed, and usually that's what I react to

Sensuelle is much more confusing than the original. Floral notes with a slight citrus bitterness, and I don't smell any pear at all. Bright jasmine and lily of the valley, but the freesia seems to be lost. Too generic, so I decided not to buy this fragrance 😒
