A Fragrance Born in Italy

The eau de parfum Rapsodia in Blu by the Italian brand Cristiano Fissore was launched in 2007 and instantly won the hearts of unisex fragrance enthusiasts.

This scent is a true ode to freedom, where fougère accords intertwine with a woody base to create a unique symphony.

It belongs to the Fougère and Woody fragrance families, making it both classic and contemporary.

The Note Palette: Freshness and Depth

The composition of Rapsodia in Blu is built on contrasts: the sparkling citrus notes of bergamot and lemon meet spicy rosemary and delicate jasmine.

At the heart of the fragrance are pure lily of the valley and tart petitgrain, while the base envelops the skin in velvety white musk and noble white cedar.

It is a true watercolor study, where every note is like a brushstroke.

Character and Sillage

The fragrance has a very strong sillage, leaving behind a long-lasting, shimmering trail reminiscent of a Mediterranean breeze.

Thanks to its unisex formula, Rapsodia in Blu shines equally brightly on both women’s and men’s skin, unfolding with freshness and sensuality.

It is an ideal choice for those who are not afraid to be noticed.

Brand History

Cristiano Fissore is an Italian fashion house founded in 1977. Its philosophy combines practicality, comfort, and chic—qualities reflected in its fragrances as well.

Rapsodia in Blu embodies this aesthetic: a fragrance that resonates like an anthem to carefree elegance.

What to Compare It With?

If you like Rapsodia in Blu, take a look at Le Labo Bergamote 22, which is also built around citrus and musk.

For a spicier mood, try Abercrombie & Fitch Fierce, while Zara Unbreakable offers a similar woody-musky base.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The perfume looks attractive, you can immediately tell that true masters worked on it. Against the backdrop of a slightly rough petitgrain, a symphony of bright jasmine notes with lily of the valley unfolds, and light coniferous accents of lemon and cardamom add interest. This fragrance seems to beckon you to dive into its depth 😔

Unfortunately, the only thing I really liked about this fragrance was its bottle. It's so pretty, I'd happily put it on my shelf if the contents were just a little different. Luckily, I didn't buy it, just tested it a couple of times. The first twenty minutes are just awful! The smell reminds me of washing powder and fabric softener, so intrusive you don't know where to run. But then, yes, jasmine and cedar appear, and that already looks beautiful. But those first minutes. Overall, I've come to the conclusion that it's not worth the money. According to reviews, it doesn't smell like this on everyone, but still, I wouldn't advise anyone to rush out and buy this bottle!!
