Cuir Altesse: The Aristocracy of Leather by David Jourquin

Presented to the world in 2014, the fragrance Cuir Altesse by David Jourquin is the embodiment of sophistication and a niche approach to perfumery.

The brand, born in France in 2011, is based on a philosophy of passion for material arts, and each of its creations, including this perfume water, tells a unique story.

Cuir Altesse, belonging to the leather fragrance family, immediately captures attention with its aristocratic atmosphere, promising a journey into a world of luxury and individuality.

Fragrance Development: From a Spicy Start to a Warm Base

From the first moments, Cuir Altesse captivates with an energetic burst of spices, which gradually unfolds like an expensive leather glove.

The initial notes create a bright and alluring start, transitioning to the heart where floral and woody chords add depth and elegance.

In the base, the fragrance acquires a warm and long-lasting texture, reminiscent of comfort and coziness, making it ideal for extended wear.

This dynamic development highlights the mastery of the composition, inviting you to enjoy every stage.

For Confident Women: When and How to Wear Cuir Altesse

Positioned as a feminine fragrance, Cuir Altesse has a medium trail, allowing it to be noticeable but not intrusive.

It is perfect for cool seasons, such as autumn and winter, adding charm to evening events, business meetings, or romantic dates.

As a perfume water, it offers balanced intensity, allowing the skin to breathe and leaving a subtle, memorable trace.

For best effect, apply it to pulse points so that body heat reveals all facets of the fragrance.

The Craftsmanship of Cécile Zarokian: How the Fragrance Shapes the Brand's DNA

Behind the creation of Cuir Altesse is the talented perfumer Cécile Zarokian, known for her ability to work with complex notes, especially leathery ones.

Her approach gives the fragrance sophistication and modernity, strengthening the reputation of David Jourquin as an innovative niche house.

Cuir Altesse not only reflects the brand's DNA but also contributes to its heritage, offering a sensory experience valued by true perfume connoisseurs.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

This fragrance is simply a discovery! Rose with patchouli, fruits, and condensed milk creates an incredible combination. The composition is bright, extravagant, and truly impressive. It's full of volume and beauty, yet it has a certain dark decadence. For me, the question of rose and patchouli perfumes is settled. Unless, of course, I stumble upon something even more amazing )

A dark purple rose with scarlet veins on its petals looks simply mesmerizing. It seems to plunge into rich, fragrant earth, where oriental spices create an incredible backdrop. Drops of sweet aroma break from the rose's thorns, penetrating the soil and turning into seeds, giving life to new roses, colored like unripe blueberries. Cuir Altesse is something special, it's like it transports you to a world full of theatricality and decadence. This fragrance truly captures the atmosphere of Marilyn Manson's album Eat Me, Drink Me, which is considered one of the darkest in their work

This fragrance seemed too aggressive and sharp to me. It has too much cardamom and other spices. Rose with patchouli sounds quite harsh. I can't deny that it's beautiful, but for me, elegance is something entirely different

I totally agree with Valery! This fragrance is simply magnificent - it combines strictness and elegance, while being slightly sweet and restrained. Patchouli rose, leather, and vanilla are perfectly perceptible, creating an incredible mood. A true feast for the senses
