Description of the composition

The Escentric 04 composition is a masterful blend of notes, where grapefruit adds an initial citrus freshness, quickly intertwining with the woody shades of juniper (cade) and sandalwood.

In the heart of the fragrance, balsamic chords of labdanum and mastic tree create a warm and cozy base.

Floral notes of osmanthus and rose add tenderness and softness, completing this multifaceted olfactory picture that unfolds gradually and leaves a trail of intrigue.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Hooray! :))) Is it really true, a miracle has happened! Out of the entire molecule line, a fragrance has finally appeared that truly delights and pleasantly surprises?! :))) Of course, I'll still be testing it to be sure, because sometimes first impressions can be deceiving :))) But it seems like a real jackpot - as if a whole truckload of sweets just dumped onto my street! :))) The weather was windy and gloomy, and the scent seems to have perfectly suited the rainy off-season. I haven't figured out the longevity yet, I'll need to check again, but overall everything is just wonderful! Fresh, sparkling, with a cheerful mood :))) And indeed, it sounds somewhat modern, you can feel that it's the pulse of time! :)))

Escentric 04 by Escentric Molecules is a perfume that seems to go nowhere. The Javanol molecule, which mimics sandalwood, is surrounded by citrus and metallic notes. Grapefruit stands out, and rose adds a strange metallic tint. Freshness, yes, it's there, but it's as if it overwhelms you, and you dive into this world as if plunging into a pool of ginger lemonade. The bubbles tickle your nose, but the joy of it quickly fades. After half an hour, my nose is already tired, and all I can think about is how to wash it off. Maybe it's just me, but a feeling of sadness from this scent remains 😔

This fragrance, like all molecules, needs to be tried on yourself. After hearing many rave reviews, I decided to test it. On a blotter, it didn't impress me, but I thought maybe it would unfold differently on the skin - after all, it's a molecule. And so, it 'unfolded'. I adore mastic wood, but here it just reminded me of the smell of furniture treated with mastic, with a light hint of grapefruit. No osmanthus or juniper. It turned out to be some kind of non-perfume scent on me. In the end, it devolved into a simple cologne trail. No, it didn't cause repulsion, but I also have no desire to own it

This is probably one of the most "acceptable" Molecules. The interesting structure of the fragrance and the citrus notes add a special charm to it. Thanks to this, it truly stands out among others

The citrus scent is nice, sure, but it's not worth getting too excited about. It smells the same on men and women, but that doesn't make it unique. The sillage, yes, it's not bad, but not outstanding either, just summery, like many others. All in all, I don't see anything special about it, just another molecule, like many others 😒

I can't help but share my impressions. It seems my expectations weren't met. On a control test on my skin, nothing happened again. At first, it seemed like there was something, but it was just an illusion. Like a glimmer of hope appeared, but alas, it quickly vanished. I'm closing the chapter on these molecules for myself. This hype completely passed me by. Not a single fragrance developed as I'd hoped, and some smelled so bad it was embarrassing to be in public. I hope others have better luck with them)))

It turned out I have this scent now, but I still can't tell if I like it or not. In warm weather, it feels like it's pressing with its presence, but there's something special about it. I'm sure it will unfold differently in winter. You can feel the sweetness, there's some sharpness, and, as I mentioned, force - there's something masculine about it. I feel like it suits a man more than a woman 😔

The first time I encountered this perfume was at Ile de Beauté. I still remember how my down jacket sleeve was soaked with this scent. It's just awful. I bought it, but quickly got disappointed - it's suffocating, and the longevity is just off the charts. In the end, I sold it to a friend, and now she can't part with it. Everyone around asks what that fragrance is. When she comes to visit me, its smell literally bursts into the apartment. Even in the stairwell, there's a sillage. For me, this fragrance is very animalic yet modern

Found an antipode among the Eccentrics! The smell is loud, but somehow out of place. Grapefruit reminds me of shower gel, osmanthus too, and rose... well, you get it. It's great that you don't have to strain to catch the scent - it just sits on the skin and is clearly noticeable

It's just a sour lemon. A bit sharp, leaning more towards a masculine note. Essentially, it's as simple as all molecules, but there's something special about it. After an hour, it develops and becomes much better, but until then, it feels quite cheap

This is a fragrance that leaves a feeling of something lost. The wood here is truly dry, and in the sillage, there's something like a sharpened pencil, but with a heavy brown tint. I wouldn't say it's simple; rather, it's something more complex and brutal. In the base, cream is felt, soft and delicate, but with a dusty note, as if you're in an old stone house. The sillage, though good, is very delicate and subtle, almost imperceptible, as if it's hiding. The first spray on the hand gives the impression that there's almost no scent, it doesn't overwhelm. It's not quite a perfume, more like a body lotion, as if an old shirt has been soaked in woody conditioner. The description is strange, of course, but the fragrance is simple, though not cheap. In the end, it's still more of a masculine option 🌲

In 2017, perfumer Geza Schoen returned to the world of fragrances with a new creation dedicated to sandalwood. At the heart of this mono-fragrance lies Javanol - an expensive sandalwood odorant from Givaudan. This is possibly one of the most persistent compounds, but many people don't perceive its smell due to anosmia. In its pure form, Javanol has a subtle woody aroma with a light creamy note, but it also contains metallic, floral, and citrus nuances.

In Escentric 04, Schoen, as if, magnified Javanol under a microscope, working through its every facet. First, he focused on the citrus aspect, transforming it into a sweet and juicy grapefruit with a sulfury undertone. Metallic notes were enhanced with rosoxide, which adds freshness and a ringing quality. A touch of musk made the fragrance more homogeneous and smooth in its development.

Today, Escentric 04 is probably the most unusual sandalwood fragrance I know. Its uniqueness lies in its structure and the perfumer's original take on inspiration. Fresh, floral-citrusy, and sweet-woody, it could be an excellent choice for everyday use

I only tried it on my skin, just like the original. I don't smell Molecule 04 at all, and Escentric 04 doesn't reveal sandalwood notes, although the fragrance is indeed refreshing, citrusy-floral. Everyone praises its longevity, but on my cold skin, it only lasts an hour. And then it just disappears! 😕

This fragrance didn't impress me either. Why? Because it opened with some mundane citruses. There's juniper, but it's not noticeable at all, so faint and unexpressive

This quartet was a real discovery for me. On my skin, bright citruses appear, but with some metallic aftertaste, like in a bucket of zinc. It's strange, but at least I feel something
