Description of the composition

The composition of Idle Hour is shaped as a cohesive olfactory arc, where layers reveal themselves smoothly and sequentially. The signature of Ex Nihilo is clear in details that define the fragrance identity. No excess details, only what works, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum supports the depth and body this composition needs.

The profile is unisex, which clarifies the composition character.

As soon as the fragrance opens you detect invigorating sunny opening notes: Bergamot, Frankincense and Pink pepper. Exactly these 3 notes form a burst of citrus freshness that anchors the first impression immediately.

When the opening settles you meet Cedar, Iris and ylang-ylang carrying a spicy-woody direction. In what remains on skin the structure settles through Akigalawood, Tonka bean and musk, extending a warm vetiver trail.

At the note-group layer the structure relies on Citrus, Balsamic, Spicy and Wood. It also reaches into Floral, Whiteflower and Musk. From a family perspective the fragrance belongs to Balsamic, Floral and Wood.

Taken together Idle Hour sounds complete from start to finish — the opening sets direction, the central phase adds depth, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the fragrances best experienced on skin.
