Identity and Release History

The fragrance Franck Boclet Tobacco, released in 2014, is a bold interpretation of the tobacco theme by the French niche house Franck Boclet.

This brand, founded in 2011 by designer Franck Boclet, is known for its rebellious spirit and rock-and-roll aesthetic, which is reflected in each of its creations.

Tobacco is part of the Fragrance Collection, emphasizing its belonging to the brand's core range.

Positioning and Wearability

Positioned as a men's fragrance, Franck Boclet Tobacco has a medium sillage that leaves a delicate yet confident trail.

In the form of perfume water, it offers a balance of intensity and longevity.

For optimal effect, it is recommended to apply pointwise on the skin, such as on wrists or neck, and to step into the cloud of spray for clothing, which creates a voluminous and long-lasting scent.

It is perfectly suited for cool evenings or special occasions where a charismatic presence is required.

Authors and Influence

The creation of Tobacco was worked on by perfumers Franck Boclet and Mélanie Leroux, whose collaboration embodied the brand's rebellious chic in olfactory form.

This fragrance strengthens Franck Boclet's reputation as a house that boldly experiments with classic materials like tobacco, giving them a modern and daring sound.

It reflects oriental, spicy, and woody chords, characteristic of oriental, spicy, and woody families, showcasing the multifaceted nature of perfumery art.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. It's such a shame that such fragrances are becoming a thing of the past. This tobacco scent is truly one of the most beautiful I've ever encountered. It's warming, sweet, but not cloying. You can feel the sweetness of dried fruits, a hint of vanilla liqueur, and a light tobacco note. The longevity and sillage are simply top-notch. For me, it's on par with Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, but alas, such moments can't be brought back 😔

Franck Boclet, the creative director of his brand, didn't bother to overthink it and simply asked the perfumer to create the closest possible copy of Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, but with budget in mind. As a result, Franck Boclet's Tobacco is slightly less refined but wins on price. Its affordability compared to the original brought good sales and popularity to Boclet

Boclet is just something else. The scent is dense, of course, but a feeling of heaviness never leaves it. Fruits, yes, they are here, but that doesn't save it. It seems like everything is smoothed out to such an extent that individuality is lost. In the end, it turns out to be something mediocre, but not in a good way. If you compare it to Tobacco Vanille, Boclet clearly falls short. Overall, it's a complete disappointment

It started to sound different, completely otherwise. Before, it reminded me of tobacco with vanilla, like Ford's, and now it feels like cognac with oily plums. Autumn revealed it in a new way, and now I feel completely different emotions towards it

The smell of this perfume reminds me of heavy cognac, and I'm sure lovers of rich fragrances should try it. It's sweetish, even too much so, and for some, it might be too intrusive!!! But for me, it's an excellent choice not only for myself but also for creating a cozy atmosphere at home

The fragrance turned out to be quite interesting for me. The plum is clearly noticeable, it's sour-sweet, and vanilla adds softness. The scent is deep and rich, truly enveloping. Unexpectedly, it's like it makes you smile!!! I expected the tobacco to be more pronounced, but overall the impression is positive. Longevity is good, and it seems ladies like it too

This fragrance was a real explosion of sweetness and bright tobacco for me. While it's pleasant, it starts to get a bit tiring over time, becoming too familiar. I wish it had more tartness to add some interest to this direction 🌟

From the first moments, it's not just prune that hits me, but some kind of smoky, damp nightmare. It's so realistic it overshadows everything else. Vanilla and clove only occasionally try to break through but disappear immediately, as if they were never there. Only after a couple of hours, tired of its dominance, the prune recedes, and then true bliss begins. Vanilla on wood - that's something divine, I want to wear it forever. But how to survive those first hours of prune madness, I don't even know. That's why I have a complicated relationship with this fragrance - from hatred to boundless love. And by the way, I don't smell any tobacco at all 😔

How magnificent it is! I learned about it from perfume blogs and decided to try it. Both its form and content are like a gentleman who knows good quality things and dresses stylishly. Expensive cigars, whiskey, and this stunning aromatic bouquet - simply incredible! Usually, I prefer to smell men's fragrances on men, even if I like them, but I applied this one to my wrist and realized I'd happily wear it myself, inhaling it again and again!… Oh…

I tried this fragrance without any prior knowledge, and honestly, it disappointed me. The sweetness and spice of cherry tobacco with jam create a heavy feeling, and mulled wine with clove and ginger only makes it worse. There's a strange note reminiscent of cyanide, which is not at all pleasant. In the base, you can feel vanilla and woody notes, but that doesn't save the situation. It reminds me of Tobacco Vanille by TF, but the sillage is just non-existent. Longevity on the skin is about 6 hours, but that's no reason to wear it. The fragrance is clearly not for warm weather, and unisex - that's not it 😒

The fragrance from Bocklet is the only one that truly piques my interest. It certainly evokes nostalgia, as it reminds me of Tom Ford's Tobacco, albeit with some nuances. Overall, the pyramid is well-chosen, and it smells quite pleasant

Tobacco isn't really my thing, but here it actually seems appealing! I mostly smell pipe tobacco with prunes and spices. The scent is more for men; on warm skin, it should develop, but on me, it quickly fades without ever really opening up ))))

It's simply impossible to do anything with this fragrance! You just want to lie on the couch, surrounded by soft pillows, smoke a pipe, and sip cognac, snacking on plum jam. This cliché prevents me from wearing such perfumes, I really start to feel like a sloth!!! As if they were specifically created to get stuck in inactivity

This is simply incredible! Plum tobacco with cedar creates an amazing feeling of freshness. The scent is so warm and rich, like a cozy evening by the fireplace. In cool weather, it really warms you up. The longevity is excellent, but it's not overwhelming. I want to inhale it again and again. I just can't look away! I wonder how it will unfold in the summer heat 🌟

The fragrance is indeed interesting, but it's not as bright as Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille. Here, tobacco blends with spices, and sweet vanilla and plum add softness. Overall, it leaves ambiguous feelings, making you ponder its true nature 🌟
