Identity and Release History

The fragrance Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, released in 2007, immediately became a cult classic in the world of perfumery, embodying uncompromising luxury — the key DNA of the brand.

This versatile perfume is part of the prestigious Private Blend collection, where each bottle tells a unique story, and is positioned as unisex, inviting both men and women to enjoy it.

Its release marked a new era in the industry, combining bold sensuality with exquisite aesthetics, characteristic of Tom Ford's style.

Positioning and Wearability

Tobacco Vanille, as an eau de parfum, has a very strong sillage that lingers in the memory of those around for a long time, making it perfect for evening outings or special occasions.

For optimal effect, it is recommended to use 1 to 2 sprays on the skin and 1 to 2 sprays on clothing to highlight its rich character without overdoing it.

The fragrance belongs to the Oriental and Spicy families, making it a warm and cozy choice for cold seasons, although its versatility allows it to be worn year-round.

If you enjoyed Tobacco Vanille, consider similar fragrances such as Attar Collection Khaltat Night, Serge Lutens Chergui, and Franck Boclet Tobacco, which also explore tobacco and vanilla themes.

Authors and Influence

Behind the creation of this masterpiece are two outstanding perfumers: Tom Ford, whose vision of luxury and aesthetics permeates every aspect of the brand, and Olivier Gillotin, who brought technical mastery and depth to the composition.

Their collaboration led to the birth of a fragrance that not only strengthened Tom Ford's reputation as a leader in niche perfumery but also influenced trends, inspiring many subsequent releases.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Tobacco Vanille begins with an energetic start, where spices and tobacco create a spicy and smoky accord, instantly attracting attention.

In the heart of the fragrance, a rich bouquet unfolds with cocoa, fragrant tobacco, tonka beans, and vanilla, which adds sweet and creamy depth, balancing the sharpness of the opening.

The base notes, represented by dried fruits and a woody accord, provide longevity and a warm, enveloping finish, leaving on the skin a trail of comfort and sophistication.

This composition, including notes from floral, fruity, gourmet, spicy, and woody groups, smoothly evolves, offering a multifaceted journey from spicy brightness to sweet tranquility.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The fragrance is indeed rich, with pleasant sweetish notes of hookah tobacco and a light hint of vanilla. It creates an atmosphere of coziness, especially on cold autumn and winter days. However, this style isn't really for me. On men, it unfolds especially beautifully and gives them status

The fragrance is undoubtedly impressive, but its intensity sometimes overwhelms the senses. It seems to scream about status, but it's not always pleasant. I can't say it's exclusively feminine - the entire line of perfumes raises questions about gender. Each of them can be for both men and women, but there's a certain bitterness in that

The fragrance is sweet, thick, and rich. From the first accords, you can feel candied cherry with a slight hint of alcohol. The tobacco here is soft and delicate, almost imperceptible against the other notes. The spices also don't stand out, everything sounds very harmonious. The sillage is pleasant, but the longevity leaves much to be desired - it disappears from the wrist after a couple of hours, leaving a light woody-vanilla trail. It's especially good and appropriate in autumn 🍂

At first, it's a cherry that acts like a drunk, smoking crowd, constantly bothering people. After three hours, it turns into a rich plombir ice cream, served in a slightly burnt cup, generously drizzled with cherry jam cooked until black 🍒

Too much of everything in this fragrance! It's just excessive. Tobacco and vanilla seem to be fighting each other, and neither wants to give in. The scent is very long-lasting, I've been wearing it for the second week now, and even after testing, I couldn't wash it off with water, it only weakened a bit. I don't know how to wear it properly. For now, it's just sitting on the shelf. I wanted my son to try it, but he said it was gross! I'll try again, but later. I don't smell any woody accord at all. I only see two sumo wrestlers - tobacco and vanilla! 💪

The fragrance evokes mixed feelings in me. It seems to envelop, but at the same time leaves a sense of emptiness. Spices, sweetness, and smokiness - it's all there, but something real is missing. Interesting, yes, but I can't say it blew me away. I can imagine it on both - a woman and a man, but the longevity and sillage don't seem to please, but rather oppress 😔

The fragrance is indeed rich, but not overly sweet. For me, it evokes associations with the coziness of an old study, with bookshelves and the smell of expensive wood. It's like stepping into the atmosphere of an old mansion where true connoisseurs live. It seems more masculine to me, although I wouldn't wear it myself )

The scent didn't particularly impress me. It has usual tobacco notes and sweetness, but the sweetness seems even too intrusive. Sometimes there's a slight cherry accent, but perhaps it's just my imagination 🤔

When applying this fragrance, you immediately smell dry leaves of quality tobacco, not some nonsense from cheap cigarettes. But in the air, it seems to be more present than on the skin. As soon as it hits the body, green vanilla simply overshadows the tobacco, dissolving it beyond recognition. It's too sweet, almost nauseating, which makes it hard to smell anything else for a long time. That's why I wear it extremely rarely on skin and hair. But on furs, it reveals itself much more interestingly. Here, tobacco comes to the forefront with a slight hint of cherry pits, which vanilla softens a bit. It lasts long on a fur coat and doesn't get tiresome. But I also don't spray too much of it

This was the first time I encountered a tobacco scent, and it was with this one. It seems genuine, substantial, and very high-quality to me. This brand simply can't offer anything else

The fragrance is simply amazing! It's great for both women and men, although, in my opinion, it suits men more, as its notes are more pronounced on them. Vanilla is present, but not as strong as I'd like 🌟

Tobacco Vanille is a fragrance that leaves no one indifferent. It appeared in 2007 along with Noir de Noir and Oud Wood in Tom Ford's Private Blend line. The creator, Olivier Gillotin, who worked with both Tom Ford and other brands, assembled an amazing combination in this fragrance.

First, you feel the sweetish and strong smell of pipe tobacco, which seems to embrace you. In the background, you hear allspice, nutmeg, cloves, and tangerine zest - all this creates a soft background, emphasizing the main note. The double bass solo of Cavendish, imbued with the aromas of oak barrel and rum, sounds very expressive.

The spicy-tobacco composition is complemented by tonka beans and vanilla, creating a silky sensation. In the base of the fragrance, dried plum, chocolate chips, and a deep woody accord with a husky undertone are hidden. Tobacco Vanille is a perfect balance between vanilla, tobacco, and spices, which constantly surprises and changes. All notes harmoniously intertwine, creating a holistic and rich aroma that never ceases to delight

This fragrance is a real hit that has won many hearts and continues to hold high positions in the market. It didn't just get lost among new trends, but became the foundation for many other compositions. And, of course, fakes with pheromones - they're countless. Tobacco Vanille is something special: it relaxes and envelops, combining honey, tobacco, and cherry notes with the softness of vanilla and a spicy clove aftertaste. This fragrance might make you ponder if you love warm and sweet gourmand notes. In “Tobacco Vanille,” chic and comfort are wonderfully intertwined, creating a feeling of true joy. Falling in love with it is easy, and being in its sillage is a real pleasure

The fragrance seems to fade into the shadows, leaving behind only a faint trace. It stays close to the skin, yet is surprisingly long-lasting. One can sense the sweetness of honey, as well as notes of dried fruits and spices. Vanilla and tobacco create an atmosphere of coziness, and a cherry pit adds bitterness. This feeling, when something important slips away, doesn't leave me 💔

Talking about 'Tobacco Vanille' is a bit awkward, as everyone knows this Tom Ford fragrance. It combines moist, aromatic tobacco with notes of sweet honey, cherry, and vanilla. Add a little dried fruit and a drop of clove, and you get an interesting bouquet that slightly resembles fragrant tobacco flowers. This scent, sealed in a tin can, accumulates in the dark, creating that unique Tobacco Vanille aroma - it's soft, yet very noticeable and rich. The sweetness, spiciness, and oily sheen make it incredibly appealing, like most Tom Ford fragrances. Interestingly, the success of Tobacco Vanille has inspired many manufacturers, and over thirteen years on the market, many interesting interpretations of this legendary fragrance have appeared 🌟
