History and Concept

GAP Established 1969 Imagine, launched in 2015, brought a breath of fresh air to the fragrance line of the legendary American brand GAP.

The name refers to the year the company was founded—1969—when Doris and Don Fisher opened their first store in San Francisco, laying the foundations for a democratic casual style.

The fragrance was created to convey a spirit of freedom, joy, and connection with nature. The composition was crafted by the talented perfumer Vincent Kuczinski, who infused it with all the energy of a summer day.

Character and Scent

This is a women's eau de toilette belonging to the floral and fruity fragrance families. Imagine is playful, cheerful, and exceptionally easy to wear.

It is perfect for everyday wear at any time of year, especially during warmer weather.

The fragrance has a very strong trail, making it memorable and leaving behind a juicy, subtly sweet impression.

It is an ideal choice for women who appreciate naturalness and vibrant emotions and want to emphasize their individuality.

If you enjoyed this fragrance, consider similar compositions: Yves Rocher Voile d'Ocre, Jeanne Arthes Kate, and Molinard Nirmala Limited Edition.

Description of the composition

The composition of GAP Established 1969 Imagine is built around a contrast between freshness and warmth.

The top notes are juicy grapefruit, sweet apple, sparkling mandarin, delicate nectarine, exotic passion fruit, and cool ice.

At the heart, a floral bouquet unfolds with apple blossom, delicate lily of the valley, and sensual jasmine.

The base brings comfort with velvety sandalwood, noble cedar, and clean white musk.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Women's fragrances often disappoint, and this one is no exception. It has too much chemistry, and the musk smells like soap. The flowers are somewhat faded, and the fruits are too bright and unnatural. The bottle, of course, catches the eye, but the scent itself doesn't spark interest. It's noticeable but doesn't attract as much as I'd like. Overall, it didn't grab me at all 😕
