Identity and Release History

Lancôme Tropiques, released in 2006, is a tropical embodiment of femininity from the legendary French perfume house Lancôme.

The brand, founded by Armand Petitjean in 1935, has always aspired to elegance and innovation, and this fragrance continues that tradition, offering a fresh take on fruity-floral compositions.

Positioning and Wearability

As an eau de toilette, Tropiques is ideal for daily use, especially in warm seasons.

Positioned as a feminine fragrance, it has a barely perceptible sillage, making it a delicate choice for the office or dates.

It is recommended to apply it to pulse points for optimal development.

Perfumer and Influence

Behind the creation of Tropiques is master perfumer Dominique Ropion, known for his ability to blend classic elements with modern accents.

His work on this fragrance reinforces Lancôme's reputation as a house that balances tradition and innovation, attracting fans of both fruity and floral notes.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Lancôme Tropiques begins with juicy top accords of cranberry and raspberry, creating a fruity and invigorating start.

In the heart of the composition, deep notes of black currant unfold, complemented by delicate jasmine and exotic mango flower, adding floral and tropical elegance.

The base of the fragrance is rooted in warm accords of sandalwood, tonka bean, and vanilla, ensuring a long-lasting and cozy finish.

This composition masterfully combines elements from fruit and floral families with gourmand, spicy, and woody groups, creating a multifaceted and inspiring experience.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

It starts with bright berries, whose sweetness immediately attracts attention. Then spicy notes and floral accents unfold, creating an interesting contrast. Vanilla in the base adds warmth and comfort. The fragrance is truly long-lasting and very pleasant, you feel a softness that gives confidence and positivity 🌸

I saw the image of the bottle on the website and immediately remembered that something similar existed in my childhood. Perhaps it was my mother's fragrance. I clearly remember it seemed berry-fruity to me. The notes here are indeed bright. But I don't detect any tropical nuances

It's so great to remember this fragrance! The berry-fruity-floral notes are simply captivating. Its longevity is excellent! Although I'm not a fan of raspberry, overall it's very pleasant. There's sweetness in the base, and that will definitely delight sweet lovers

It's great that I got to know it, but I don't feel nostalgic, as it's definitely an acquired taste. Strange fragrance! These are real tropics, where the riot of rainforest scents is captivating. It's impossible to pick out any specific note, everything sounds very holistic and unpredictable, tropically sweet, with a slight bitterness and a little intoxicating. I haven't seen it in online stores, and even if it appears there, I don't recommend buying it without testing it!!!

A kind of strange fragrance. A delicate berry cocktail where cranberry, raspberry, and blackcurrant blend, creating an atmosphere of comfort and warmth. Sweetness is present, but not too intrusive. You seem to fall in love, but there's something unclear. If it lasted longer, it might have become a real find

In this fragrance, vanilla notes, sandalwood, and sweet berries are clearly audible, but not like those in jam, rather as if sprinkled with powdered sugar. It's truly warm and creates an atmosphere of coziness. Lancome always skillfully works with vanilla, and here they are again at their best! 🌟
