Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of Onsen is shaped as a living composition, where notes flow without rush and without gaps. The signature of MiN New York is clear from the opening to the final trail. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de parfum keeps the right density and pace of development.

From the group perspective the composition is built around Citrus, Aromatic, Green and Wood. The palette also extends to Aquatic, Animals, Earthy / Mossy and Floral. From a family perspective the fragrance belongs to Aromatic, Chypre and Wood.

In the top tier you detect refreshing herbal opening notes: Bergamot, Fennel, Rosemary and Tarragon.

At the core of development you sense Cypress, Marine accord and Pine Needles keeping a spicy-woody direction.

The accord profile is shaped by these accords: Balsamic, Aromatic, Citrus and Wood forming a compact and readable structure. Secondary accord layers such as Amber and Marine enrich the profile without taking over.

A modern chypre that doesn't smell of times past. There's nothing retro here, just a pure urban atmosphere, bitterness and a variety of herbs, as well as woody notes that create an interesting background. This fragrance is definitely suitable for both men and women, the longevity is simply impressive, after a shower it retains its freshness as if just applied 🌿

In Onsen, the main note is hinoki - white cedar, which is not so familiar to our perception. This mysterious fragrance, with its spicy and camphorated oil, can indeed help relieve stress and heal wounds. However, in combination with an abundance of wormwood, it for me seems more herbaceous than woody, and I would have preferred the opposite. Artemisia is not my favorite component, but the originality of this fragrance and its meditative qualities certainly deserve attention. It truly gained its fame thanks to these features. It's often called a home fragrance, and I can agree with that, but I wouldn't limit its use to just that context. Not a bad perfume, but not without its nuances

Onsen really reminds me of Botanist, but it has its own special freshness and sharpness. The aromatic herbs sound very bright, but I couldn't exactly pinpoint what notes they were. According to the pyramid, you can catch tarragon, fennel, thyme, and bergamot, as well as a fresh marine accord. Overall, the impression it leaves is similar to Botanist. The fragrance is high-quality, pleasant, and definitely stands out among others
