Description of the composition

The composition of Dahab is built as an expressive line of development, where layers reveal themselves without rush and without gaps. The style of MiN New York comes through in the way notes appear and fade. Nothing here feels random, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum emphasizes a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

At the note-group layer the composition is built around Drinks, Spicy, Green and Citrus. The palette also extends to Balsamic, Wood, Floral and Ambery.

In the first seconds you sense spicy sparkling first notes: Absinthe, Cinnamon, Galbanum and Lime.

In the central layer you detect Benzoin, Cypress, Frankincense and Geranium keeping a amber-incense direction.

The internal accord map rests on these accords: Balsamic, Aromatic, Citrus and Gourmet forming a compact and readable structure. Additional accords such as Floral, Musc, Wood and Amber add depth to the backdrop. The stylistic positioning is unisex, which clarifies the composition character. The scent is clearly oriental, with a pronounced oud accent. There's a noticeable sweetness and richness, woody and resinous notes are also present. I tried it out of curiosity, but it's not quite for me. I think those who love such fragrances will enjoy it. Its longevity and sillage are impressive 🌟

Unfortunately, no miracles happened. The fragrance quickly loses its strength and almost disappears. A pleasant woody and smoky undertone, with a light sweet haze, remains in the base. But you can only catch this if you press your nose to your wrist. Longevity leaves much to be desired, and this is the main drawback of the perfume, because the powerful opening and interesting development created hope for a longer lasting scent. What a shame 😔

MiNov's fragrance really grabs attention. It's the most expensive and discussed in the line, and the reviews about it are quite dark. When I tested it, the first thing that came to mind was soot and grime, as well as prunes and rough leather. The feeling of power and richness is simply striking. The opening notes resemble something 'tarpaulin-like', and indeed, there's a similarity to Giacobetti Giacobetti, but this fragrance sounds more refined and deep.

It unfolds slowly, without changing much, but a light sweetness of saffron appears in the sillage, though no sweetness is felt on the skin. The density of the fragrance creates an atmosphere where you don't want to joke around. It's more of a fragrance for deep contemplation. Over time, it gets closer to the body, softens a bit, but remains just as dark and majestic. I don't hear marine notes, but against the background of saffron and leather, there's a tart bitterness of nutmeg.

After an hour, oud appears, but it's also dark and sooty, though not as brutal as in the beginning. The peppered wood sounds calmer, almost cozy. Saffron leather is like a crumpled leaf on a heavy wooden table, recalling the bright notes that were just an hour ago. The base of the fragrance is warm, with a light tarry sweet tartness. In fact, the perfume quickly 'domesticates' and transforms from a furious beast into a calm, but still dangerous tiger.

Honestly, I expected more, considering Dahab is the most sought-after fragrance in the line. It's really good, very good! But if I had to choose between it and Barrel, I'd choose Barrel. I'll wait a bit longer and maybe add my thoughts
