Note Pyramid and Fragrance Development

Ormonde Jayne Rose Gold begins its journey with a refreshing chord of top notes: bergamot, clary sage, lime and orange blossom, creating a bright and cheerful first impression.

In the heart of the composition, rich floral and spicy notes unfold: cloves, jasmine, orchid, rose and water lily, adding depth and sensuality.

The base of the fragrance is based on warm and woody chords: ambretta, labdanum, oud, pepper tree and sandalwood, which provide longevity and a captivating finish.

This is a carefully balanced pyramid where each note plays its role, creating a universal and memorable perfume.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth

This fragrance, honestly, isn't impressive. Spring-like? Yes, but more in a bad way. On me, it opened with some sharp rose with green notes, citrusy sourness, and spices that are just irritating. The woody notes add heaviness, but not in a good way. Longevity is average, and the sillage isn't pleasing either. All in all, a complete disappointment 😒

The fragrance is truly feminine and very pleasant. Rose is prominent here, but I also detect citrus notes that add interest. I've long been looking for something similar, where rose is framed by citrus. Ormonde Jayne managed to create something truly beautiful, and I'm curious how this fragrance unfolds.

At first, it's strange, without a hint of rose, rather tart and herbaceous. Then the rose appears, and the fragrance starts to sound louder, as if gaining strength. But at the stage when the citrus notes come in, the volume starts to drop, and a hint of pepper appears, and that's it.

I'm so sorry that this fragrance disappears so quickly. This is the first time I've seen a perfume just vanish from the skin, leaving only emptiness behind. For longevity, I give it - 1 out of 10. Otherwise, of course, it's beautiful!

The floral scent is really pleasant, especially the rose note stands out. The fragrance is clearly feminine, spring-like and bright, but honestly, the price is too high. I can't say it justifies its cost, I wish the longevity was better

The opening notes aren't floral, but rather bitter and herbaceous, thanks to clary sage and a spicy bergamot rind. Over time, a rose appears, so bright and juicy, and vanilla orchid gives it a sweetish nuance, reminiscent of pink sorbet. The oud note adds sophistication and enhances the sound of this lovely sugary rose, but doesn't make it heavy, as is often the case. I don't detect clove; the oud is enough for me. Even the water lily somehow harmonizes with another ingredient, which isn't off-putting, but rather adds freshness to the fragrance. It can seem cool and vibrant, and in warmth, it becomes soft and sweet, but always remains feminine 🌸

What a wonderful floral bouquet! Rose is simply the main star here, and spices and woody notes complement it perfectly. Oud is not as pronounced, which, in my opinion, is only a plus. This scent is definitely not for everyone, it's very feminine and attractive 🌸
