The note pyramid of Passionate Love is built as a cohesive olfactory arc, where notes flow smoothly and sequentially. The signature of Ormonde Jayne comes through in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Every decision feels deliberate, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de parfum keeps the depth and body this composition needs.

At the opening of the pyramid you meet piquant warm top notes: Coriander, Neroli and Nutmeg. Exactly these 3 notes shape piquant dynamism that gives the fragrance a clear opening statement.

When the opening settles you sense Clove, Freesia, Jasmine, Magnolia, Osmanthus and Rose holding a velvety rose-iris direction.

The internal accord map rests on these accords: Floral, Musc, Wood and Spicy with each one in a clear role. The profile is feminine, which clarifies the composition character. In longevity terms High points to a sustained drydown presence.

The smell is somewhat spicy, the flowers here clearly don't delight. Rose, freesia, white flowers - all of that is there, but it feels like something is missing. Osmanthus is almost imperceptible, as if it wasn't even there. The sillage, of course, is present, but the longevity - a maximum of three hours on me. Not impressive, to be honest 😒
