Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Oud Sublime is shaped as a living composition, where layers reveal themselves smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of Nicolai Parfumeur Createur is recognizable in details that define the fragrance identity. Every decision feels deliberate, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Perfume extract emphasizes the depth and body this composition needs.

At the note-group layer the composition is built around Green, Wood, Spicy and Floral. It also reaches into Ambery, Animals, Balsamic and Musk. Within olfactory families the fragrance belongs to East.

At the opening of the pyramid you catch crisp leafy top notes: Ambrette, Davana and Wormwood.

At the core of development you meet Atlas Cedar, Cambodian Oud, Coriander, Cumin, Nagarmotha and Patchouli holding a spicy-woody direction.

The stylistic positioning is unisex, which makes the scent profile easier to read. For persistence Very high points to a sustained drydown presence. In diffusion Noticeable describes the way the scent radiates.

Overall Oud Sublime reads as a cohesive composition — the first stage creates momentum, the central phase adds depth, and the base secures the trail. These are the scent structures best understood through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

The agarwood theme here is really interesting, but the French approach adds its own nuances. Spicy and amber notes clearly dominate, although oud is also present. It's important to note that everything is done with intelligence and a sense of proportion, so there's no need to blame the brand for catering to Eastern preferences. Firstly, it's simply beautiful. And secondly, it's nothing like the endless attempts to please clients from the UAE
