Description of the composition

The composition of Rose Summer Edition 2013 evolves as a layered story, where accents shift without rush and without gaps. The creative approach of Paul Smith is clear from the opening to the final trail. Every decision feels deliberate, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de toilette sets a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

The stylistic positioning is feminine, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived.

In the first seconds you meet petal-airy first notes: Aquatic accord, Bergamot, Peony and Water Lily. Exactly these 4 notes set romantic softness that is impossible to miss.

When the opening settles you detect Magnolia, Rose and Sandalwood holding a opulent floral direction. At drydown level the structure settles through Ambrette, Cedar and Musk, reinforcing a dry green trail.

At the note-group layer the composition is built around Mineral, Citrus, Floral and Wood. The framework further includes Green, Musk and Whiteflower. From a family perspective the scent maps to Floral.

In summary Rose Summer Edition 2013 sounds complete from start to finish — the opening sets direction, the heart develops the core line, and the base secures the trail. These are the fragrances best judged in wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The scent is fresh, with a light sweetness. You can feel an aquatic note, as well as water lily. Overall, it's pleasant, but it lacks depth 🌼

The fragrance is like someone just poured water into a traditional Rose. It ended up being something lighter, more watery. It comes off as somehow simpler and colder than I expected. The classic version, to me, is way more attractive

Here's magnolia, aquatics, and water lily. I'm usually wary of such notes, but in this fragrance, they're all blended together. However, in my opinion, the water lily is way too dominant!!!
