Description of the composition

The scent of Hammam Bouquet is built as a living composition, where layers reveal themselves without rush and without gaps. The creative approach of Penhaligon's is clear from the opening to the final trail. No excess details, only what works, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de toilette keeps the right density and pace of development.

In the top tier you sense invigorating sunny first notes: Bergamot and Lavender.

When the opening settles you detect Iris, Jasmine, Rose and White Cedar holding a harmonious floral direction.

The olfactory framework is driven by these accords: Aromatic, Citrus, Floral and Musc with each one in a clear role. Additional accords such as Wood, Powdery and Amber expand the olfactory volume in the background. The gender direction is masculine, which clarifies the composition character. For persistence Middle points to a sustained drydown presence.

At the note-group layer the profile is anchored in Citrus, Green, Floral and Whiteflower. It also reaches into Wood, Ambery, Musk and Gourmet.

Overall Hammam Bouquet sounds complete from start to finish — the opening sets direction, the middle layer carries the identity, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the fragrances best experienced in wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Oh wow, what a disgusting smell! It reminds me of getting lost in a soap store once. Sandalwood and eucalyptus? That's just a nightmare! No comfort at all, just a suffocating scent that presses on your brain. I don't know who came up with this, but I definitely wouldn't want to be in a Turkish bath with such a "fragrance"

On me, I first smell lavender with rose, but they're somehow lost among sandalwood and iris root. Bergamot is also somewhere nearby, but you can barely catch it. An hour passes, and sandalwood with iris starts to sound with the rose, but kind of sluggish and boring. But after another hour, the scent unexpectedly changes and becomes honeyed wax. That's actually pleasant, but at first it was so irritating
