Description of the composition

The scent of 08 Intrigant Patchouli is built as a continuous scent journey, where layers reveal themselves with precision and warmth. The creative approach of Pierre Guillaume Paris is clear in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Every decision feels deliberate, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de parfum supports the depth and body this composition needs.

The accord architecture is built around these accords: Citrus, Gourmet, Musc and Wood forming a compact and readable structure. Secondary accord layers such as Amber add depth to the backdrop.

When the pyramid is blended into one block the opening appears as one connected movement with a architectural woody mood: Ambergris, Benzoin, Ginger, Patchouli, Sandalwood and musk.

The heart and base are perceived as a smooth transition from opening to trail, which gives the structure continuity.

From the group perspective the structure relies on Spicy, Wood, Ambery and Balsamic. The framework further includes Musk, Animals and Floral.

Taken together 08 Intrigant Patchouli sounds complete from start to finish — the first stage creates momentum, the heart develops the core line, and the base secures the trail. These are the fragrances best experienced through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.
Sillage
Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

I don't get who could give this fragrance only one star, totally trashing its reputation. Guillaume's patchouli can't be harsh or too heavy. As always, the scent is subtle yet confident 🌟
