Pierre Guillaume

Парфюмер

Pierre Guillaume is not just a perfumer, but a true alchemist of modern niche perfumery, whose biography is woven from the threads of science, art, and family history. Born in Clermont-Ferrand into a family of chemists, he adopted an analytical, research-based approach to creating fragrances, which became the basis of his unique style. After receiving a degree in chemistry and working in the family business, Guillaume could not resist the call of his heart and in 2002 founded Parfumerie Générale, making a bold leap from the laboratory to the world of fragrances.

The beginning of a legend and the first iconic fragrance

His first independent work, 02 Coze, became more than just a perfume—it was an olfactory biography. The tobacco and spice-filled, warm and cozy fragrance was born as an attempt to capture the atmosphere of his father's cigar cellar. This composition instantly attracted the attention of connoisseurs and set a high bar for all of the master's subsequent creations, proving that perfumery is a story told through notes.

Evolution and the birth of an empire: Pierre Guillaume Paris and Phaedon

By 2010, Guillaume was ready for a major transformation. He founded Pierre Guillaume Diffusion, gaining complete control over the entire production cycle: from his own laboratories and raw material warehouses to packaging. Parfumerie Générale was reborn as a more global brand—Pierre Guillaume Paris. At the same time, he created the Huitième Art ("Eighth Art") collection, experimenting with the method of "olfactory photography" — the creation of instant, complete aromatic images without the classic pyramid. And in 2012, the world saw another of his creations — the Phaedon brand, demonstrating a more restrained and architectural side of his talent.

Signature style: where science meets sensuality

Pierre Guillaume's style is a delicate balance between intellectual complexity and emotional accessibility. He masterfully works with gourmet and sensual accords, transforming them into refined and elegant compositions. Whether it's the sunny creaminess of Helioflora, the seductive floral-leather depth of 03 Cuir Venenum, or the cool marine freshness of 27 Limanakia, each of his fragrances bears the mark of impeccable technique and vivid artistic vision.

The master's best and most popular creations

Pierre Guillaume's extensive perfume library includes real stars that are beloved by the community. In addition to those already mentioned, it is impossible to ignore the luxurious tuberose of 17 Tubereuse Couture, the bright tropical explosion of 12 Hyperessence Matale, and the sunny woody-floral range of Sunsuality. His work for other houses, such as the iris-fruity Daimiris and the green Esvedra for Laboratorio Olfattivo, are also considered benchmarks and are on the must-have lists of many collectors.

Pierre Guillaume today: laboratory, creativity, and legacy

Today, the legendary perfumer continues to run his fragrance empire from his native Clermont-Ferrand, where his laboratories are located. He remains the creative heart of the Pierre Guillaume Paris and Phaedon brands, constantly expanding the universes of his fragrances. His current activities include not only new perfumery masterpieces such as the smoky Cedre Sandaraque and the Mediterranean 16 Jardins de Kerylos, but also the development of home fragrance lines, candles, and perfumed skincare products. Pierre Guillaume is a shining example of how passion, backed by knowledge, gives birth to art that breathes, lives, and continues to amaze the world.
