Sospiro Perfumes launched Vivace in 2011 — and it was a brilliant move. A unisex fragrance belonging to the chypre, east, and wood families. Perfumer Christian Maurice Carbonnel poured every ounce of mastery into this one. One of the scents from the Chapter I collection. An eau de parfum — light-footed, but utterly unforgettable.

It carries a noticeable sillage, leaving a trail that lingers pleasantly in the air. The longevity is genuinely phenomenal: firmly in the very high range. Made in Italy, backed by a long and proud tradition. A rich, layered composition that reveals itself differently depending on your mood and the time of day.

Description of the composition

The composition of Vivace is built as a cohesive olfactory arc, where accents shift smoothly and sequentially. The signature of Sospiro Perfumes is evident in details that define the fragrance identity. No excess details, only what works, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de parfum emphasizes a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

At olfactory-group level the structure relies on Aromatic, Citrus, Spicy and Floral. The framework further includes Wood, Ambery, Animals and Balsamic.

Right at the start you meet refreshing herbal top notes: Basil, Clary Sage, Lemon and Oregano.

In the middle phase you sense Cinnamon, Clove, Geranium and Patchouli holding a velvety rose-iris direction.

The accord architecture is shaped by these accords: Animalistic, Balsamic, Aromatic and Citrus without random overlap. Secondary accord layers such as Floral, Musc, Wood and Amber add depth to the backdrop. The stylistic positioning is unisex, which clarifies the composition character. Too much clary sage. For me, it's overkill. I also smell clove notes, but they don't save the situation. The fragrance, in my opinion, is clearly more suitable for men than for women. It's quite heavy and intense, and I can't get used to it yet. So I'm not even thinking about buying it

Identifying the scents from this line was a real torture for me. The bottles were almost indistinguishable from each other, and there were so many blotters in my notebook that it became impossible to sort them out. I had to apply them to my hands to at least understand what was what. The fragrance turned out to be very complex, and it seems to require a special mood. I expected something light and peaceful, but instead, I got something suffocating. Now I'll know how to properly try unfamiliar perfumes on the skin 😔

In winter, it smells quite interesting. I can't break it down into notes, but there's something mysterious about it 🤔
