Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

I don't understand how this can combine, but it all smells very dusty and tart. As if someone just took and sprinkled dust on old boards. And a little more floral powder. I don't smell anything else

"Silk Skin" is a creation by Dominique Ropion, who is undoubtedly one of the most brilliant perfumers of our time. This fragrance combines powdery and musky notes, as well as woody accents of cashmeran and sandalwood. It evokes the sensation of touching a cool, smooth surface, as if you're touching a casket filled with velvet powder.

The powdery accord, based on musks and ionones, gives the fragrance a slightly old-fashioned character with interesting twists. The floral note, which is difficult to define, lies somewhere between jasmine and rose, but doesn't stand out brightly. It adds the necessary sophistication and volume, creating associations with silk.

However, Peau de Soie doesn't have a strong sillage and may remind one of many well-known floral-musky compositions. Strange, urban nuances of hairspray and something reminiscent of nylon add interesting details. This fragrance doesn't have the usual top, heart, and base structure. Ropion created something minimalistic, with smooth lines, where the ash-pink part feels like a matte velvetiness, and the pink part feels like smoothness.

Peau de Soie can be worn anytime, anywhere - it easily blends with the skin. Like all musky fragrances, "Silk Skin" reveals itself best on the body when it comes into contact with warmth

We don't need anything loud or harsh. The musk here behaves too freely, releasing its animalic notes and all sorts of oddities. On a blotter and from the bottle, it smells much nicer, with powdery and floral accents. I think this fragrance would suit those with cooler skin better

In the store, I thought the scent was interesting, so I bought it. But in reality, it's just dust, reminiscent of skin with baby powder. This dust irritates me, it just clogs my nose. It reminded me of Eden - also kind of strange. It might be better on a man, I tried it. The scent is only noticeable when moving, quite quiet. Maybe it's because I don't like powdery scents

In this fragrance, there's too much cold powder and washed-out musk, and the woody notes seem conditional. I didn't notice any animalic notes at all. Green accents immediately catch the eye, giving the composition a cold tint. But, honestly, all this sounds too unnatural, even synthetic, as if from distant space. Such a scent could be on board a spaceship. I didn't feel any emotions, no inner message either. Femininity is present, but it's cold, like an android in female form 🤖

The musk here is clearly animalic, and the woody notes perfectly complement the powdery greenery. In this fragrance, you can feel a bodily musk, and the sweetish grass adds an interesting nuance 🌿
