Fragrance information:

Metaboles Ys Uzac arrived in 2011 — and it was immediately clear this one was here to stay. By character, a masculine fragrance drawing from the spicy and fern families. The fragrance was crafted by perfumer Vincent Micotti. The fragrance belongs to the Chronochromie collection. The fragrance is presented as eau de parfum.

Switzerland is where this fragrance comes from — and it shows. A rich, layered composition that reveals itself differently depending on your mood and the time of day.

Perfume information

Description of the composition

The scent of Metaboles is shaped as a layered story, where notes flow with precision and warmth. The signature of Ys Uzac comes through from the opening to the final trail. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de parfum emphasizes the depth and body this composition needs.

At olfactory-group level the structure relies on Citrus, Green, Spicy and Floral. It also reaches into Aromatic, Ambery, Balsamic and Gourmet. Within olfactory families the composition sits in Fern and Spicy.

From the first breath you meet fresh green first notes: Bergamot, Galbanum, Ivy and Tomato leaf.

When the opening settles you notice Black Pepper, Clove, Geranium, Licorice and Mint holding a spicy-aromatic direction.

The accord architecture rests on these accords: Aromatic, Citrus, Gourmet and Floral without random overlap. Additional accords such as Musc, Amber and Spicy enrich the profile without taking over. The stylistic positioning is masculine, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

Taken together Metaboles holds a coherent structure — the first stage creates momentum, the middle layer carries the identity, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the scent structures best understood in wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Today I decided to look through my stash and found some leftover perfume. It's quite versatile, by the way. I can really clearly smell the mint. It's funny, smelling of mint isn't quite usual, but sometimes it can be interesting 😏
