Fragrance information:

Nightingale Zoologist Perfumes — a 2016 fragrance that needs no introduction. By character, a unisex fragrance drawing from the chypre, east, and floral families. The inspiration and craft behind the bottle belong to Tomoo Inaba and Victor Wong. By character, it falls into the citrus, floral, and green groups. The palette of this fragrance is exceptionally rich: traces of musk and wood can also be found — a rare combination that makes this perfume truly one of a kind. Released in perfume extract.

Expect a extremely noticeable sillage: present enough to be remembered. The longevity is genuinely phenomenal: firmly in the very high range. Canada is where this fragrance comes from — and it shows. A rich, layered composition that reveals itself differently depending on your mood and the time of day.

Perfume information

Description of the composition

The scent of Nightingale unfolds as a cohesive olfactory arc, where accents shift without rush and without gaps. The creative approach of Zoologist Perfumes is recognizable in details that define the fragrance identity. Every decision feels deliberate, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Perfume extract sets a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

The olfactory framework rests on these accords: Balsamic, Citrus, Floral and Musc without random overlap. Background accords such as Wood, Amber and Spicy add depth to the backdrop. The gender direction is unisex, which clarifies the composition character. In longevity terms Very high points to a sustained drydown presence.

At the opening of the pyramid you catch radiant lemon-bergamot opening notes: Bergamot, Lemon and Saffron.

In the central layer you sense Plum Blossom, Rose and Violet carrying a harmonious floral direction.

From the group perspective the structure relies on Citrus, Floral, Green and Musk. It also reaches into Wood, Spicy, Balsamic and Animals.

Taken together Nightingale holds a coherent structure — the opening sets direction, the central phase adds depth, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the fragrances best judged in wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

I can't believe it, but this fragrance just disappointed me! It's so bright and persistent that one spray lasts all day, and it's not a joy. Rose is, of course, at the base, but around it there's just some confusion with violets and plums, and although there's no raspberry here at all, I still smell it. If you love long-lasting scents, a 60 ml bottle will be a real test for you, and for collectors, I think even 10 ml will be enough to understand that this is not something worth keeping 😒

At first, like many, I noticed the bottle - it really catches the eye! But when it came time to get acquainted with the scent, my expectations weren't met. I thought it would be light and airy, but in reality, it turned out to be quite complex. The combination of oud with lemon didn't work for me, and, like Montale with lime, there's something unpleasant here too. Although the scent looks beautiful in its development, this strange note prevents me from fully enjoying it. I can't shake the feeling that something is off

The scent turned out to be much deeper than I expected. It blends floral and woody notes. I was surprised that saffron and oud don't dominate, but only emphasize the delicate flowers. There's a light cherry sweetness, but it doesn't save it from the overall heaviness of the composition 😔
