I recently gave this to my husband and am now observing how it wears on him. In the top notes, I detect coriander, although it doesn't seem to be in the fragrance pyramid. When the scent opens up, dried fruits come to the forefront - they are very natural, juicy, and delicious. On a man's warm skin, they unfold beautifully without being too sweet. However, I don't sense any notes of alcohol or peat, as island whisky smells completely different. Pure Malt is more reminiscent of the sweet scent of Jameson Black Barrel. The sillage is present, and the longevity is good. I think, like all Mugler fragrances, it becomes more intense over time.
The fragrance is truly impressive, but if it weren't for the word Gentleman, I would never have thought it was for men. It feels universal, as if it's made for everyone. The lipsticky iris really stands out, it's so good you just want to bathe in this scent. However, there's one drawback - the sillage isn't very long-lasting
