Soleil Brûlant is the third fragrance with "Soleil" in its name, and honestly, I didn't expect it to be like this. The first two - Soleil Blanc and Eau de Soleil Blanc - promised us tropics and glamour, but this one seems completely different. Soleil Neige, which came out later, also didn't leave much of an impression, and I even called it bland. But Soleil Brûlant - this is something unexpected. The name "Burning Sun" suggests something bright and fierce, but the fragrance I got turned out to be nothing like that. It starts with a powerful, assertive sound that immediately grabs attention. No "sun-kissed mandarin and bergamot" can hold it back. Here are resins, wood, and spices, and all this creates something colossal, but without light and air. I feel frankincense resinoid and something akin to amber, but all of it seems encased in dark armor that absorbs light. The woody notes are difficult to identify, but they seem to drown in a thick syrup of resins. The smoke here is not just smoke - it's ritualistic, and this gives the fragrance a special atmosphere. The main note is fenugreek. It evokes mixed feelings in me. On one hand, it adds depth, on the other - I simply don't like this smell. It reminds me of oriental bazaars, and that's, of course, individual. But the accord as a whole is harmonious and appropriate. I expected to find a honey note, but it wasn't there. Instead, I caught a certain floral accord that is difficult to identify against the background of resins and spices. Towards the end, the fragrance becomes technological and lifeless, like a desert where there is nothing but sand and a sun-scorched sky.
