To the fragrance: SIU Gigil

Gigil SIU is cappuccino with peach syrup 🍑☕️

If I hadn’t known the note pyramid, I would have guessed citrus at first, bergamot for example. They really highlight the milky sweetness. In the first few minutes, I even imagined chocolate with an orange filling 🍊

The peach became clearer after I read the notes. But it doesn’t smell like fresh fruit, more like a thick addition to coffee or a cocktail. There is coffee too, but it’s specifically milky cappuccino, with none of the smell of beans or espresso bitterness.

In the sillage, salted caramel, warmed amber and sandalwood appear. Its distinctive saltiness is almost completely hidden behind the sweet notes.

This isn’t the place to look for realistic peach, chocolate or coffee. Everything is presented in a distinctly perfumey way, at times even slightly synthetic, but it’s easy to wear: no stickiness, suffocating heaviness or excess sugar, the sweetness stays nicely even.

I like how Siu rethinks luxury fragrances in its own way: making them calmer, removing the sharpness and extra shine. The foundation remains recognizable, but sounds softer. Gigil has the mood of coffee-like Black Opium, with peach and caramel added, the white flowers toned down and the patchouli removed. The result is a more distinctive, tender and very pleasant gourmand fragrance 👏🏻

When I first tried this fragrance, I immediately knew it wasn't for me. It was too simple, like a childhood compote, and even a little vulgar. For such a renowned brand, it was, to put it mildly, strange. I decided I'd stop there. But everything changed when I was given a sample of La Petite Robe Noir. What an discovery that was! I, a lover of richer and heavier scents, was pleasantly surprised. Maybe I just didn't notice its depth at first glance. The fragrance turned out to be much more interesting than I initially thought. I always feel cozy and joyful with it

I don't recommend this scent to anyone. It's just awful. If you're looking for peaches, forget about it, they're not natural here, but rather nasty and cloying. Amber? Yes, but with such sweetness that it's sickening. Vanillin with some sticky, honeyed nastiness that only causes disgust. A complete failure! 😒

SWEETNESS! The scent is really pleasant, with a light sweetness and a delicate powdery note, reminiscent of cosmetics. Vanilla plays the main role here, creating a soft and cozy feeling. Although the longevity isn't top-notch, I think this kind of lightness is exactly what's needed to enjoy fleeting moments of happiness

It smells like someone decided to mix patchouli with wood and balm. I don't know who would like this. The citrus at the beginning is okay, but then everything becomes unbearable. Overall, it's for a specific taste, but I wouldn't recommend it ))))

This fragrance is certainly delicate, but for me, it's too light and unexpressive. White flowers and lemons, yes, but the feeling is somehow flat. The sweetness that should be pleasing is rather irritating, and the jasmine with peonies sound somewhat out of place. They overdid it with the musk, it's oppressive and depressing. Spring? I don't know, more like some melancholy spring, full of gray days

The scent is simply awful, cold and bitter, as if someone decided to mix geranium with leather and musk. Patchouli is also out of place here. The spices, which were supposed to add warmth, only irritate. The intensity of this smell is off the charts, the sillage leaves much to be desired, and the retro notes sound like a return to the 90s. Overall, it all sounds extremely uninteresting and causes nothing but discomfort
