Franck Boclet is a name that resonates with the rebellious spirit of Parisian bohemianism and the impeccable elegance of haute couture. More than just a designer, he is a true creator whose career has left a lasting mark on both the world of fashion and niche perfumery. His style, which he himself calls "neo-dandyism," is a bold synthesis of classic cuts, elegant lines, and rebellious punk aesthetics inspired by rock 'n' roll, cinema, and contemporary art.
His education at the prestigious ESIV school in Paris laid the foundation, but the industry became the real university for Bocle. His career began in 1985 with an invitation to join Kenzo, which was an excellent start. This was followed by work with the legendary Courrèges, followed by 17 fruitful years as art director for the Italian luxury brand Francesco Smalto. Later, he headed the men's lines at Emanuel Ungaro. This unique experience shaped his impeccable taste and understanding of luxury, which culminated in the launch of his eponymous brand, Franck Boclet, in 2011.
Perfume became a natural extension of his world. In 2012, wanting to complement his men's collection with the perfect accords, Boclet presented his first four niche fragrances. He chose not abstract concepts, but powerful, sensual materials that he knew and loved: Patchouli, hypnotic Oud, mysterious Incense, and noble Leather. To bring his bold ideas to life, he entrusted them to the talented perfumer Melanie Leroux, and production to Fragrance et Emotions, known for its work with brands such as John Mac Steed, Eden Park, and Patricia Kaas.
The collection quickly won the hearts of connoisseurs, adding iconic fragrances that are now among his top creations. Among them are the sweet and daring Cocaïne, the languid and sensual Tobacco, the delicate and romantic Sugar, and the brutal Rebel. The Rock & Riot line occupies a special place, and the designer's love story, which ended in marriage to model Solenn Gatti, gave the world the touching Rock & Riot Ivory line and the Be My Wife fragrance.
Franck Boclet's style in perfumery is a reflection of his fashion DNA: an uncompromising blend of strength and elegance. He masterfully works with rich, often provocative notes, giving them sophistication and wearability. His perfumes are not just fragrances, but emotional statements, stories in scents. Today, combining the management of his own brand with the position of creative director at Francesco Smalto, he continues to inspire the industry, proving that true luxury is born at the intersection of impeccable craftsmanship and bold self-expression.
