Aliénor Massene is a name that sounds like music to true fragrance connoisseurs. This talented perfumer, senior nose at the giant Symrise, has followed a unique path from art historian to creator of iconic perfumes. Born in 1972 and educated in art history, she has always lived in a world of sensations and images. Her childhood sensitivity to scents grew into a passion that led her into the magical world of perfumery without a classical education, but with enormous talent.
Alienor learned the art of perfume creation from the best: at the Cinquieme Sens school under the guidance of Monique Schlinger, and then at Florasynth and Firmenich. Her professional career began in 1995 at the New York office of IFF, where she honed her craft. Years later, in 2016, she moved to Symrise, which became a new chapter in her brilliant career. This path proved that true talent and intuition are sometimes more important than formal diplomas.
Alienor Massene's style is characterized by bold sensuality, masterful use of contrasts, and deep imagery. She skillfully combines seemingly incompatible elements to create emotional and memorable compositions. She is the creator of some of the most talked-about niche fragrances, which are adored by the perfume community. The legendary Memo - Irish Leather with its cool leather and moss, the floral-musky masterpiece Memo - Marfa, and the seductive L'Artisan Parfumeur - Couleur Vanille are her calling cards. No less significant are her mass-market hits, such as the atmospheric Viktor & Rolf - Antidote and the sensual Jimmy Choo - Illicit Flower.
Alienor's portfolio is impressive in its diversity and scale. She is the heart and soul of the niche brand Memo, for which she created an entire perfume universe, including hits such as African Leather and French Leather. Together with Sophie Labbe, she was at the forefront of the poetic Floraïku brand. Her talent is also in demand among fashion giants: she has created fragrances for Giorgio Armani (including one of her first successes, Emporio Armani Night For Him), Paco Rabanne (Fabulous Me), Lancôme, and Salvatore Ferragamo.
Aliénor Massonet is not afraid of bold experiments, as clearly demonstrated in her work with the conceptual house Comme des Garçons Parfums, for which she created the daring Copper. Her fragrances for stars such as Katy Perry (Spring Reign) and David Beckham (Instinct Gold Edition) prove her ability to speak the language of popular culture while remaining true to high standards. Her contribution to perfumery is recognized by fans around the world, and each new fragrance becomes the subject of heated discussion and high ratings in our community.
