Bruno Jovanovic is one of the most sought-after perfumers of our time, whose creative journey is impressive not only for the scale of his collaborations, but also for its remarkable diversity. His story began not in a laboratory, but in a shopping center, where a chance encounter with a perfume store promotion turned his life upside down. Fascinated by the variety of fragrance samples, the young Bruno realized that his calling was to create perfumes. This realization led him to study chemistry and physics in depth, and then to the prestigious ISIPCA perfume school.
After graduating with flying colors, Jovanovic joined the industry giant IFF. His early works immediately announced his new talent. One of his first major successes was the incredibly popular Abercrombie & Fitch - Fierce, created in collaboration with others. This was followed by fruitful collaborations with brands such as Avon and Calvin Klein, where the bold CK IN2U fragrance duo was born in 2007.
The real breakthrough in Jovanovic's career came when his solo projects won the hearts of connoisseurs. He gave the world the sensual Giorgio Armani - Idole d'Armani, the playful Vivienne Westwood - Naughty Alice, and one of the top perfume bestsellers of the 2010s - the dazzling Paco Rabanne - Lady Million. His talent proved to be universal: he was equally successful in creating commercial hits for Hugo Boss and Paco Rabanne, as well as complex niche compositions.
Bruno Jovanovic's style is a masterful balance between power and elegance, bold contrasts and impeccable wearability. His fragrances for the Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle collection — the powerful, almost gothic Monsieur and the floral-spicy masterpiece Dries Van Noten — have become benchmarks for artistic perfumery. Equally impressive are his experiments for independent houses: the urban Masque Milano - Times Square and the dreamy A Lab on Fire - Almost Transparent Blue.
In 2021, important news spread throughout the perfume industry: Bruno Jovanovic joined Firmenich as senior perfumer. This opened a new chapter in his career. Even before this transition, he continued to define perfume fashion, creating the phenomenally successful floral flagship Giorgio Armani - My Way and the bold Carolina Herrera - Bad Boy Le Parfum. Today, his portfolio is a living encyclopedia of modern perfumery, where each creation, whether it's the sensual Calvin Klein Reveal or the invigorating Hugo Boss Boss The Scent, finds its grateful audience and heated discussions in the community.
