David Frossard is one of the most influential figures in the world of contemporary niche perfumery. His journey into the industry began unexpectedly: while studying philosophy at the Sorbonne and planning an academic career, he joined the sales department of L'Artisan Parfumeur in 2000. This experience proved fateful and awakened in him a deep interest in the world of fragrances. Moving beyond sales, Frossard quickly mastered all the intricacies of the perfume business, taking on the role of export director, and in 2005, he took a bold step and founded his own distribution company, Différentes Latitudes, which became a bridge between independent perfume houses and the world.
Under Frossard's leadership, Différentes Latitudes introduced many unique brands to the world. One of the first and most significant projects was the P. Frapin & Cie Parfums brand, where he not only handled distribution but also headed up the creative direction in 2012, giving the world iconic fragrances. However, the perfumer's true magnum opus was the creation of the Les Liquides Imaginaires brand in 2011, in collaboration with designer Philippe Di Meo. This project became his main creative laboratory, where Frossard acts as creative director and ideological inspirer, embodying complex philosophical and artistic concepts in fragrances.
David Frossard's philosophical education has forever defined his style. He does not simply create perfumes, but constructs narratives where beauty is born at the intersection of light and darkness, the strange and the sublime. His signature technique is to present fragrances as trilogies, each exploring a single theme from different angles. This love of conceptual stories has made the Les Liquides Imaginaires brand a true phenomenon, and its fragrances coveted objects of collection and endless discussion in the perfume community.
Frossard's creativity has given the world many iconic perfumes that have long been the object of adoration by connoisseurs. His portfolio includes both bold, almost theatrical compositions and refined, poetic creations. Among the most talked about and beloved are the sparkling pink masterpiece Dom Rosa, the dark and mysterious Bloody Wood, and the sensual and balanced Tumultu. His work for Frapin cannot be overlooked: the velvety and refined The Orchid Man, as well as the virtuoso Speakeasy — a perfect example of how to tell a story through fragrance.
David Frossard is a true architect of modern niche perfumery. He not only creates unique fragrances, but also shapes an entire ecosystem for independent brands through his distribution company. His influence on the industry cannot be overstated: he has raised the bar for conceptuality, proving that perfume can be a high art form capable of evoking deep emotions and intellectual responses. Today, while continuing to develop Les Liquides Imaginaires and overseeing other projects, including the Obvious brand, Frossard remains one of the leading visionaries and creators whose work continues to inspire and amaze the world of fragrances.
