Biography and path to perfume fame

Delphine Thierry is a French perfumer and founder of the independent creative studio Inspiration Libre. Her career has been a dream come true, starting with a clear goal: from a young age, she aspired to devote herself to the world of fragrances. After studying chemistry in depth at the Technological University of Orsay, she enrolled at the prestigious ISIPCA school. Her internship at Chanel under the guidance of the legendary Jacques Polge proved to be a turning point, laying the foundations for her future expertise.

Since 1994, her professional growth has been linked to IFF, where she rose from intern to full-fledged perfumer in six years. Her first independent works, such as the playful aquatic fragrance OH! De Moschino for Moschino and the spicy Ginger Essence for Origins, immediately demonstrated her versatile talent.

Creating her own studio and collaborations

In 2007, having gained experience in large companies, Delphine took a bold step and founded her own studio, Inspiration Libre. This allowed her to focus on creative projects with independent and niche brands, for which she creates truly original compositions. Her partners include the alluring Irish house Cloon Keen Atelier, the exquisite Lubin, the avant-garde Masque Milano, and the sensual project 12 Parfumeurs Français.

Her portfolio includes close collaborations with brands such as Majda Bekkali, Evidens de Parfum, Richard Luscher Britos, as well as the creation of an entire perfume collection for the lingerie brand Chantelle.

Delphine Thierry's creations are always an event in the world of perfumery. Among her iconic works, fans particularly highlight the languid and mysterious Tulaytulah, the refined and elegant Upper Ten for Her, and the sensual and warm Akkad. For Masque Milano, she created bright and memorable compositions — the sunny Terralba and the tobacco-scented Montecristo.

In 2021, the perfumer delighted fans with an update to the classic Lubin collection, introducing the fragrances Eva, Anna, and Magda. Her works for the 12 Parfumeurs Français project, such as Mon Amour and Secret De L'Amour, are also hugely popular among connoisseurs of niche perfumery.
