Who is Juliette Karagueuzoglou?

Juliette Karagueuzoglou is one of the most brilliant and talented perfumers of our time, whose name is associated with iconic fragrances for such giants as Yves Saint Laurent, Lancôme, and Giorgio Armani. As a perfumer at IFF, she has created compositions that have won the hearts of millions of connoisseurs around the world, skillfully balancing the mass market with niche exclusivity.

Inspiration from childhood

Juliette's journey into the world of fragrances began with a magical experience: her aunt, who worked at Dior, gave her a taste of the divine bouquet of Dune perfume. It was this moment that awakened her passion for perfumery. In-depth study of chemistry, education at the prestigious ISIPCA school, an internship at the Grasse-based company Expressions Parfumees, and training at the IFF perfume school honed her skills, and in 2007 she officially received the title of perfumer.

First steps and recognition

One of Karagezoğlu's first notable works was the fragrance Cascade for Chopard, created in collaboration with Beatrice Piquet. This was followed by successful projects for Salvatore Ferragamo, such as the playful and elegant Signorina, and a fragrance for children by Tous. Her talent was quickly recognized: in 2010, she received the Rising Star Award from IFF.

Breakthrough with Yves Saint Laurent

The turning point in her career came with her collaboration with Yves Saint Laurent. Juliette participated in the renewal of the legendary L'Homme and co-created the sporty version, L'Homme Sport. But her real triumph came with her first independent work for the YSL boutique line—the fragrance Tuxedo. This chypre-amber perfume, the embodiment of luxury, instantly became iconic. It was followed by the sensual Vinyle, which cemented her reputation as a master of complex, emotional compositions.

A wide range of brands and fragrances

Karagözoglu's portfolio is impressive in its diversity: from niche gems such as the fresh Un Air de Bretagne for L'Artisan Parfumeur or the smoky and spicy Savoy Steam for Penhaligon's to luxury creations for boutique lines. She is the creator of Patchouli Aromatique for Lancôme, the exquisite Ikat Bleu and Laque for Giorgio Armani, and the sparkling Sparkling Secret for Viktor & Rolf.

Signature style

Juliette Karagözoglu's style is refined, multifaceted, and boldly contrasting. She masterfully combines classic notes with modern accords to create fragrances that are both sophisticated and emotionally charged. Her work features a play of textures, from the velvety amber trails of Tuxedo to the crystal-clear aquatic notes of Un Air de Bretagne. Her perfumes are always a complete story told through scents.

Popular and iconic fragrances

Among Juliette's many creations, the best-selling fragrances stand out. These include the seductive Signorina series for Ferragamo, which includes Signorina Misteriosa and limited editions, the delicate Jimmy Choo L'Eau, the romantic Coach The Fragrance, and the exquisite Vetiver Paradise for Carolina Herrera. Each of these perfumes reflects her ability to capture the spirit of the times and create truly desirable fragrances that are actively discussed in the perfume community.
