How notes combine into fragrance families

Luca Gritti is not just a perfumer, but a guardian of centuries-old history who has embodied the spirit of Venice in his fragrances. Coming from a noble family that traces its origins back to the Ottoman diplomat Alvise Gritti, he was immersed in an atmosphere of art and refinement from childhood. His path naturally led him to perfumery: his family has owned a perfume factory since 1946. Luca received a fundamental education in chemistry and then, after a brief foray into the world of finance, returned to his calling to found the independent niche brand Gritti in 2010.
Gritti's own home became a creative laboratory where he could express his aesthetics without compromise. The debut collection of 2010-2011, which included Antalya, Delirium, Preludio, and Saraj, immediately signaled his ambitions. These were followed by real hits that fans of the brand still discuss today. For example, the sensual and mysterious Damascus or the sparkling, almost magical Aqua Incanta.
The community of perfume enthusiasts particularly praises his ability to work with bright accords. The citrus explosion of Pomelo Sorrento, the languid and daring Doped Tuberose, as well as the limited edition tenderness of Tutù and its light version Tutù Blanc regularly top the ratings and garner rave reviews. These fragrances prove that his creations are not just compositions, but real emotional experiences.
Luca Gritti's signature style is a blend of Italian passion, historical references, and modern boldness. He masterfully combines transparent aquatic notes with deep woody and sweet amber trails, as in Noctem Arabs. His style can be described as cinematic: each fragrance, whether it is the elegant Chantilly or the mysterious Fanos, tells its own unique story.
Luca's talent is in demand far beyond his own home. As a freelance perfumer, he has enriched the portfolios of many interesting brands. His works include fragrances for the sensual Unique, the historic Venezia 1920, the exquisite Accendis, as well as Profumi di Pantelleria, Choix, and the luxurious True Diamond Perfume. This diversity proves his incredible flexibility and ability to capture the DNA of completely different brands.
Luca Gritti is a striking example of a modern perfumer-author who has managed to harmoniously combine a rich heritage with current trends. His fragrances, whether it's his personal 19-68, named after the year he was born, or the exotic Dame De L'Île, offer a unique experience that's appreciated by true connoisseurs of niche perfumery. Today, he does not simply create perfumes, but continues a centuries-old family chronicle, where each new chapter smells impeccable and unforgettable.
