Patrice Martin is a name well known to perfume connoisseurs in Russia and the CIS. Born in Grasse, the heart of the perfume world, this French master has dedicated his life to creating fragrances that speak the language of emotions. Although his name is not always on the front pages of glossy magazines, his creations adorn the dressing tables of thousands of women, giving them confidence and inspiration.
Patrice Marten's destiny was predetermined from birth — he grew up in a family closely connected to the perfume industry. However, he began his journey with a business education, which later helped him understand not only the art but also the commercial side of perfumery. In 1976, he enrolled in the prestigious Givaudan school, and in 1980, he began his professional career at the same company. Thirteen years of working at Givaudan laid the foundation for his expertise, after which he briefly tried his hand at teaching at the ASFO training center. In 1995, Marten joined Aromafleur, where he worked for 17 years, and today he continues to create as a leading perfumer at Floressence, maintaining his passion for creating new olfactory stories.
Interestingly, Patrice Martin gained widespread fame in the post-Soviet space thanks to his fruitful collaboration with Russian brands. His nose created iconic fragrances for Brocard, Emporium, Berdoues, and Ciel. It was in these works that his talent for creating affordable yet high-quality perfumes that meet the demands of a wide audience came to the fore. Among his early hits are the playful Commedia Dell'Arte, the delicate Le Secret de L'Amour and the refreshing Gelato by Brocard, as well as the elegant Lady Vogue Perfect by Ciel.
In 2018, the perfumer presented his most personal work to the world: seven fragrances under his own brand, Patrice Martin. This collection became the embodiment of his many years of experience and creative freedom. Here he experiments with genres: from seductive fruity-floral accords in Flowers Of Evil and Sexxx Dreams to noble chypres in Imperial and Victorious. The floral-woody harmony of Love Game, the romantic Rose De Damas, and the sensual oriental Tabac Gourmand complete the palette, offering a fragrance for every mood and occasion.
Patrice Martin's style can be described as practical and emotional. He masterfully balances commercial appeal with olfactory depth. His fragrances are often built on clear, understandable accords—juicy citrus, delicate flowers, soft woody and vanilla notes. These are perfumes that do not intimidate but attract, creating a feeling of comfort and pleasure. His work for the mass market shows respect for the consumer: he offers a quality product at an affordable price without sacrificing artistic integrity.
Among Patrice Marten's extensive portfolio, the fragrances that have become bestsellers and public favorites stand out in particular. These include not only the hits already mentioned, but also creations such as the refreshing H2O Fraicheur and the stylish Styleman by Emporium, as well as popular compositions for Brocard: the light Water Ivy, the seductive Elegance, the summery Sorbetto, and the cheerful Exotic Lemonade. Let's not forget the beach vibe of Calvi Beach by Berdoues. Each of these fragrances is proof of the master's ability to understand the market and create perfumes that you want to wear again and again.
Patrice Martin remains an active and sought-after creator whose works continue to delight new fans. His story is an example of how a passion for fragrances, backed by professional training and an understanding of the audience, can lead to the creation of truly popular perfumes that become part of many people's everyday lives.
