Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of Century evolves as a continuous scent journey, where layers reveal themselves with precision and warmth. The creative approach of Alfred Dunhill is clear from the opening to the final trail. Every decision feels deliberate, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de parfum supports a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

At olfactory-group level the composition is built around Citrus, Spicy, Balsamic and Floral. The framework further includes Wood and Musk. At family level the composition sits in Fern and Wood.

At the opening of the pyramid you detect radiant lemon-bergamot top notes: Bergamot, Grapefruit and Mandarin.

In the central layer you notice Cardamom, Frankincense and Neroli carrying a warm-spicy direction.

The accord profile rests on these accords: Balsamic, Citrus, Floral and Musc without random overlap. Secondary accord layers such as Wood and Spicy add depth to the backdrop. The gender direction is masculine, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

In summary Century sounds complete from start to finish — the start forms character, the central phase adds depth, and the base secures the trail. These are the scent structures best understood in wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

It's similar to Santal 33 by Le Labo, but without that heavy leather note. Here, there's more freshness and cleanliness, even a soapiness. Cardamom adds a green crispness and herbaceous freshness. The scent is calm and cozy. And, what's nice, it's quite inexpensive

The fragrance, honestly, is a complete failure. Everyone who smelled it made a face. Not to say it's completely awful, but just wildly unusual. I absolutely don't recommend it without testing it beforehand
