Introducing Blackbird Triton

Blackbird Triton is a unisex fragrance from the fougère family, launched in 2014 by the American avant-garde brand Blackbird. Concentration: eau de parfum.

The fragrance was created by perfumer Aaron Way and inspired by the icy surface of Triton, Neptune's moon.

Character and Scent Profile

Triton is a refreshing, cool aldehydic fragrance with delicate fougère and spicy accents.

Its trail is barely perceptible, making it ideal for those who prefer an intimate presence.

Despite its cold concept, the heart of the fragrance reveals a fragile warmth: the sweetness of mimosa and the softness of iris intertwine with the spice of black pepper and green violet leaf.

A base of amber, incense, cedar, and vetiver adds dry, earthy warmth, balancing the icy opening.

Concept and Inspiration

Named after Neptune's coldest moon, Blackbird Triton transports us to a lifeless frozen world where, nevertheless, the pulse of life still beats.

Aldehydes create a sparkling mineral glimmer reminiscent of light on glaciers. This is a fragrance for bold, determined individuals who are not afraid to stand out and appreciate niche aesthetics.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Triton, released in 2015, is an interesting scent centered around iris. It combines dry woody-amber notes framed by aldehydic violet powder nuances. The moist freshness of violet leaf and the sweetness of styrax create an interesting contrast, but it doesn't fully break free from the powdery surroundings. The aldehydes that turn into ambergris add a modern touch, making the composition more multifaceted. Even though woody-iris scents can seem boring, Triton doesn't leave anyone indifferent. Its crystalline, slightly sweet ambergris accord adds freshness and inspiration, even if nothing fundamentally new is observed in the scent overall!
