Fragrance information:

Eau Libre Brecourt, released in 2010, is officially considered a masculine fragrance, rooted in the spicy, fern, and water families. The fragrance was crafted by perfumers Jean-Marie Santantoni, Marie-Eugénie Bouge, and Emilie Bouge. Created as part of the Contextuels collection. An eau de parfum — light-footed, but utterly unforgettable.

The sillage is extremely noticeable — noticeable, but never overwhelming. The longevity is genuinely phenomenal: firmly in the very high range. Country of origin — France. Eau Libre Brecourt unfolds gradually, effortlessly, and with great refinement — a perfect choice for day or evening.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Eau Libre unfolds as a layered story, where notes flow smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of Brecourt is recognizable in details that define the fragrance identity. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de parfum emphasizes the depth and body this composition needs.

From the group perspective the structure relies on Citrus, Spicy, Aromatic and Floral. The palette also extends to Whiteflower, Aquatic, Ambery and Wood.

Right at the start you catch sparkling citrus first notes: Bergamot, Black Pepper, Grapefruit and Pink pepper.

At the core of development you sense Geranium, Jasmine, Marine accord and Mint holding a opulent floral direction.

The internal accord map is driven by these accords: Aromatic, Citrus, Floral and Musc with each one in a clear role. Background accords such as Wood, Amber, Spicy and Marine expand the olfactory volume in the background. The gender direction is masculine, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived. In wear duration Very high indicates a stable lasting impression.

Taken together Eau Libre sounds complete from start to finish — the start forms character, the heart develops the core line, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

This fragrance can be called a true "suit" masterpiece. It seems to embrace with its strictness and elegance, but at the same time leaves a sense of mystery. I can't say it's for everyone, but if you're looking for something that will emphasize your individuality, then this is exactly what you need 🕶️

From the first second, this scent hits my nose with some chemical note, reminiscent of something from the mass market. Many write that it gets better later, but I'm not rushing to conclusions. Waiting. Waiting. 10 minutes passed, and this chemical smell is still on my skin. It's starting to irritate, becoming similar to something from old Lacoste or new Boss. Waiting further. 20 minutes, 30 minutes. And I'm left completely bewildered. I expected something special from a niche perfume, but got ordinary mass market. I have no desire to pick apart the notes, don't even want to look at the pyramid. A jumble of citrusy freshness with chemical minty greenness. Complete disappointment. Went to wash it off.

But before washing it off, I took another deep breath from my wrist. And something there, barely, quietly, but pleasantly stirred. Some semblance of nobility, but so unexpressive and boring that. Washed it off without regret. Remembered what it resembled. The green Dirk by Dirk Bikkembergs, mercilessly gifted to someone
