Meet Carner Barcelona Fig Man

Released in 2019, the Fig Man fragrance from Carner Barcelona quickly won the love of niche perfume enthusiasts.

This unisex bottle, part of the Fresh Collection, has become a bright embodiment of Mediterranean freshness and the brand's modern approach to perfume creation.

Carner Barcelona, founded in 2010, draws inspiration from the spirit and heritage of Barcelona, and Fig Man is a perfect example of how Catalan aesthetics blend with innovative chords.

The Magic of Creation: Perfumer Yann Vasnier

Behind the Fig Man fragrance is the talented Yann Vasnier, a senior perfumer known for his complex and emotional compositions.

His work on this release demonstrates masterful control of notes, creating a balance between fruity juiciness and woody depth.

Fig Man reflects Vasnier's influence on the brand's style, strengthening Carner Barcelona's reputation as a house that offers unique and memorable fragrances for a sophisticated audience.

Fragrance Pyramid: From Freshness to a Warm Base

Fig Man opens with bright top notes dominated by bergamot, cardamom, and fig, creating a refreshing and slightly spicy start.

In the heart of the composition, fig leaf, marine accord, and violet unfold, adding green and aquatic shades.

The base consists of guaiac wood, patchouli, and tonka bean, providing a warm and long-lasting finish.

This multi-layered approach makes the fragrance dynamic and intriguing throughout wear.

Who Fig Man is For and How to Wear It

The unisex character of Fig Man makes it an ideal choice for men and women who appreciate fresh and modern perfumes.

With a medium trail, it is noticeable enough but not overwhelming, suitable for the office, dates, or summer walks.

The eau de parfum concentration ensures good longevity, unfolding gradually throughout the day.

Fig Man sounds particularly harmonious in warm seasons when its citrus and green accents come alive on the skin.

How to Dose the Fragrance for Perfect Results

For optimal development of Fig Man on the skin, 2 to 3 sprays are recommended, applied to pulse points such as wrists and neck.

On clothing, it's better to limit to 1 to 2 sprays to avoid oversaturation and preserve the fragrance's naturalness.

This dosage allows you to enjoy the smooth evolution of notes from start to base, highlighting the universality of this perfume.

If you've fallen in love with Fig Man, be sure to try Vilhelm Parfumerie Black Citrus with its dark citrus notes, Calvin Klein CK One Gold for a more golden and sweetish accent, or Henri Bendel Jasmine & Tuberose if you want to delve into floral motifs.

Fig Man Carner Barcelona is more than just a perfume; it's a journey to the sunny shores of the Mediterranean, embodied in a bottle.

Its balanced character and masterful execution make it a must-have for any niche perfume lover's collection. To learn more about the brand, visit the official website.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

From the very beginning, there's a rich scent of fig and its leaves. Then it gradually transitions into woody notes, which add freshness, sweetness, and a slight powderiness. It's a truly intriguing fragrance worth experiencing

The scent is truly unusual, one might say it's universal. The name, of course, hints at a masculine side, but in reality, it's not. I wouldn't say it's bright. The fig here sounds more like a fresh leaf, creating an atmosphere of a tree by the sea, where sun rays break through the foliage, and a light breeze gently sways the branches 🌊

I was hoping this scent would be reminiscent of Mugler's Womanity, as it has fig and aquatic notes. But, alas, nothing of the sort. Here, the emphasis is on the fruit itself, on its vibrant greenery and the freshness of the wood. It's a completely different experience

Fig Man is a complete disappointment, dedicated to Salvador Dalí. His illustration «Homme Figuier» from the «FlorDali Les Fruits» series looks like an unsuccessful attempt to convey an idea. A fig growing from the body of a half-person, half-plant only causes bewilderment. The artist, inspired by 19th-century botanical lithographs, clearly failed to create anything worthwhile.

There's not a drop of originality in Fig Man. Human flesh, as in Dalí's painting, is absent, and this only makes the situation worse. The fragrance, which should be transparent and delicate, actually seems empty and lifeless. It evokes no emotions, like waves that simply roll onto the shore.

A fig-milk veil with sugar and vanilla in sea salt sounds like a bad joke. This isn't a fragrance, but just a set of smells that have neither meaning nor depth. A complete disappointment

What a cool scent! Citrus and fig combine just wonderfully. A little greenery, a drop of violet and cardamom, plus a sea breeze and woody notes - and I'm already imagining myself on the Mediterranean coast. It's just super! 🌊

At the start of this fragrance, I immediately detect cucumber, though it's not entirely clear where it comes from. Then floral notes appear, followed by something mossy and slightly woody, as if powdered. Overall, the scent is pleasant, but it stays too close to the skin. And, honestly, the price is clearly inflated )

The scent starts with sharp and bright notes of fig, bergamot, and aquatics, but then everything goes wrong. In the base, some intrusive artificial note appears that's just overwhelming. It seems like something simple and not very pleasant, as if they're trying to pass off wishful thinking as reality. It's not bad, but I don't want to wear it

After all these woody and violet notes, the tart note unfolds beautifully, fresh and pleasant, but it's still clearly a masculine scent. For some reason, it reminded me of Soviet O-Zhenas, with a lemony tartness 🍋

Fig is my weakness, but in this fragrance, it only appears in the top notes. Green, not sweet, quite pleasant. But then violet and guaiac make it resemble a woody scent, reminiscent of violet and light wood. It's like taking the classic Fahrenheit and making it lighter. Upon drydown, it also reminds me of DSQUARED2 She Wood 🌿
